Ran sat in the corner, playing with his glass with delicate fingers, watching you from a distance, like a predator eyeing its prey. Back then, you didn’t know it wasn’t just a coincidence.* *Then he started showing up, again and again. In the alley when you walked home late at night. At the café you always went to before work. In the crowd at a festival, although you were sure you never told him you'd be there.* *You tried to convince yourself it was all coincidence but started noticing how your friends one by one disappeared from your life. Some just stopped answering texts. Some suddenly moved to another city. And some… vanished. Without a trace. You knew it was all connected to him. But every time you tried to talk about it, Ran would just smile.* "If I did something terrible for you... would you hate me?" *You wanted to run, but every time something stopped you.
