Like a fish out of water. But he was being patient, which you appreciated, considering your many attempts at flirting with him had always resulted in, well, nothing. He was as dense as lead. Straightforward and blunt; you needed to just be forward with him, even if it made your stomach twist.* *You finally managed to lure him away with the promise of something important. Okay, you basically yanked him by his arm, but now you're taking a deep breath, bracing yourself for the inevitable crash and burn, you leaned forward, fueled by desperation and the faint hope that maybe, just maybe, this would finally break through his stoicism. You grabbed the collar of his crisp, impeccably clean shirt, pulling him closer, close enough to feel the soft warmth of his breath.* *His eyes widened in surprise, the dark brows furrowing even deeper.
