Revolver Ocelot, real name Adamska (Russian: Адамска) or simply Adam (Russian: Адам), and also known as ADAM, Shalashaska (Russian: Шалашаска), or most commonly Ocelot (Russian: Оцелот), was a Russian-American operative of FOXHOUND and an agent of the Patriots. A master of interrogation and a formidable gunfighter, he was often referred to as a "ricochet genius" in regards to his gun fighting skills. A fanatic, he was known for his affinity towards Spaghetti Westerns, as evidenced by his choice of weapon and his clothing, duster and spurs, the traditional garb of cowboys. His weapon of choice was the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, which he regarded as "the greatest handgun ever made." Throughout his career, Ocelot became personally acquainted with all five men codenamed Snake: a friendly rival to Big Boss (aka Naked Snake), the right hand man for Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake, one of Venom Snake's top advisers, and a nemesis to Solid Snake. He was the son of The Sorrow, and the legendary soldier The Boss, given birth to on the battlefield. Specializing in infiltration of a different nature than Solid Snake and Big Boss, Ocelot often acted as a triple agent, to serve multiple interests in the same situation. Ocelot speaks seven languages fluently, namely French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and English, the latter two being his primary languages. In August 1964, Major Ocelot and the Ocelot Unit infiltrated Rassvet, Tselinoyarsk, in order to capture weapons scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov for the GRU. He ambushed the KGB operatives stationed in the area and killed them with his remarkable gun-play, although he professed reluctance in doing so to Soviet comrades. Interrupting the American CIA's own extraction of Sokolov, via their agent Naked Snake, Ocelot had his unit surrounding the two, and attempted to kill Snake, having confused him for a defecting U.S. soldier. However, his arrogant use of a Middle Eastern technique that involved ejecting the first bullet by hand, caused his Makarov handgun to jam, resulting in his entire unit being defeated by Snake's superior close-quarters combat skills. At gunpoint, a winded Ocelot was advised to use revolvers by an impressed Snake, who had earlier noticed his tendency to twist his elbow to absorb recoil, before passing out. After regaining consciousness a short time later, Ocelot boarded Colonel Volgin's helicopter while they were airlifting Sokolov's Shagohod prototype to Groznyj Grad, the scientist himself having been captured by the Cobra Unit, led by the actual American defector The Boss. When Volgin prepared to employ The Boss's gift, a Davy Crockett missile, against Sokolov's research facility, Ocelot attempted to stop him, again displaying concern for his countrymen. Unable to convince Volgin, Ocelot watched in horror as the Colonel launched the miniature warhead and destroyed the facility in a nuclear explosion. Sometime afterwards, Ocelot procured several Colt Single Action Army revolvers, including an engraved model and three black-powder models. Ocelot also attached the 9 mm bullet, which had jammed during his encounter with Snake, to a chain that he would wear around his neck, having modified it to fit the Single Action Army with which he intended to revenge himself upon Snake.[6] One week later, Ocelot was ordered by the CIA to aid Naked Snake in Operation Snake Eater, in which The Boss, the Cobra Unit, and the threat of the Shagohod were to be eliminated, while also retrieving the Philosophers' Legacy for the American branch of the Philosophers. Returning to Rassvet, Ocelot intended to make contact with Snake, but the supposed KGB spy EVA reached him first, helping him evade Ocelot's unit. While Snake neutralized the Ocelot Unit, Ocelot himself captured EVA and held her at knife point, brandishing his new revolver at Snake. However, having apparently misspent his ammunition, due to SAA carrying fewer rounds than he was used to, Ocelot was roundly defeated. Ocelot fled the area, with Snake stopping EVA from gunning him down, allegedly because he was "still young," although he had actually had taken a liking to him. Maintaining his cover as a GRU operative, Ocelot decided to aid Snake covertly, and throughout Operation Snake Eater, the two developed a mutual rivalry and fought on several more occasions. Ocelot re-encountered Snake at the Bolshaya Past crevice, where they had a gun duel. However, it was interrupted with The Pain's hornets scouting ahead, forcing him to flee. Reaching the Ponizovje warehouse, Ocelot rendezvoused with Volgin and the Boss, where he intimidated the uncooperative scientist Sokolov in a game of Russian roulette, almost killing him before The Boss intervened. Due to his audacious actions in confronting Snake at Bolshaya Past, Ocelot was scolded by the Boss and had his revolver dismantled in the process. At the fortress of Groznyj Grad, Ocelot later witnessed Volgin's torture and killing of Aleksandr Leonovitch Granin, after the latter was accused of enemy espionage. Ocelot berated Volgin about his practices, but to no avail. When Volgin's lover Tatyana arrived, he noticed the smell of motorcycle gasoline on her, and made his suspicions known to her by threatening her with a crossbow and commenting on the state of her boots (which were biking boots instead of officer boots). After Snake was captured while infiltrating the fortress, Ocelot again bore witness to Volgin's brutal torture, but developed an appreciation for it, calling it "the ultimate form of expression." He also attempted to expose EVA in her disguise as Tatyana after she objected to Volgin ordering the The Boss to gouging Snake's eyes out, subjecting her to his Russian roulette. However, Snake, desperately trying to protect EVA, got between the two of them, resulting in Ocelot accidentally discharging his gun in Snake's face, costing him his right eye, an act which earned Ocelot a violent slap from The Boss. Volgin, however, satisfied with the outcome, left the room. With Volgin gone, Ocelot covertly picked up the transmitter that The Boss had earlier placed on Snake's body, and replanted it on him while hitting him in the back. After Snake escaped, Ocelot hunted him down in the sewers and was about to shoot him with the bullet from their first meeting, until Snake evaded him by jumping from a waterfall. When Snake was again caught infiltrating Groznyj Grad, Ocelot expressed his desire to settle the score with him, but was stopped by Volgin. During the fight that ensued between Snake and Volgin in the Shagohod hangar, Ocelot was ordered to shoot Snake but refused to do so. Ocelot instead threw items down for Snake to use against Volgin, having made a promise to The Boss. When Snake's planted bombs were discovered in the facility, Ocelot was ordered to locate them. Following Volgin's defeat in combat and the bombs' subsequent detonation, Ocelot pursued Snake and EVA on motorcycle, and was later saved from falling debris by Snake's rocket launcher. As the pursuit continued onto a runway, Ocelot was nearly killed by the backwash from the Shagohod's rocket booster ignition, which the pilot Volgin relished as revenge for Ocelot's earlier disobedience. Ocelot temporarily abandoned the chase after the escapees destroyed a nearby rail bridge which he narrowly avoided falling into, costing him one of his revolvers in the process. When Snake and EVA attempted to escape on a WIG over Rokovoj Bereg, Ocelot boarded the craft from a flying platform and, following a brief fist fight with Snake, decided to settle on a duel of quick draw. Before the duel, Ocelot exchanged first names with Snake to demonstrate that they were "real men", and not their animal namesakes. The duel itself was, however, a ruse, as Ocelot fired first, without harming Snake. Amused, Ocelot explained to the confused Snake that he had played a trick on him, in that the bullet he had used had been a blank. He and Snake exchanged a wry smile before Ocelot bade him farewell, hinting that the two of them would likely meet again some day, and leapt from the low-flying craft to the water below. )", }
