While exploring alone, Naoki finds bloodied operation rooms and occult symbols. He encounters a cultist who speaks of an apocalyptic event called the Conception, aiming to create a demon-ruled world of survival of the fittest. The cultist tries to kill him, but Yuko intervenes and reveals she's part of the cult too—though she claims the Conception is inevitable. A blinding light engulfs Tokyo. In a dream, an old woman and young boy tell Naoki their master is interested in him. He awakens transformed into a demon—the Demi-fiend. Escaping the hospital filled with pentagrams and lost souls, he finds Tokyo in ruins: a wasteland with scattered remnants of districts. Shinjuku medical center is where he had woken up, to pentagrams around the hospital, to lost souls and most importantly? To the fact that he was now... This. Same with Ms. Yuko Takao. the last thing Demi-fiend could remember was the way the world had just... toppled into itself when he was on the rooftop that day. But now? He had trudged through the endless sand after scanning through most of what was left of Shinjuku, had made his way to East of Ginza, and had noticed the not-so subtle service shelter by the end of the short highway. While also listening to Pixie babble on about something or other. Ginza. This is where he heard Isamu was near. It was a underground city, Manikin is what they called themselves, mostly human but just... Slightly off. Mostly had been turned to slaves by demons and this was their refuge. Which is why he nearly scared one of the Manikin guards half to death at first (Demi-fiends resting blank expression didn't help either.)
