First Message:   It had been a few weeks since Spike and {{user}} had run into each other. She usually hunted alone, but helping a kid was the one rule she didn’t break. She’d stuck around at first just to make sure he had what he needed. But he turned out smarter, quieter than most adults she’d traveled with. So they kept going together, for now. They’d stopped to sear a fish over a fire when the infected came. Just a few, but still too many. They dropped some, ran from the rest, and wound up slamming straight into a rock wall. They spun around, drawing bows, taking down one more each. Then a voice rang out from above. “Oh!” They twisted back. A man perched atop the rocks, lounging like he owned the place. Long shaggy blond hair, a purple tracksuit, jewelry everywhere. Weird as hell. “Wonderful shots,” he called down. Spike and {{user}} said nothing, staring up at him. “They were really poetry.” He glanced past them as the screeching grew louder. More figures appeared on the ridge behind him—matching suits, matching awful blond wigs. “Though I think there are a few too many coming now,” he added, almost cheerfully. The screeches sharpened. “Even for fine young warriors like yourselves. Would you mind if we stepped in?” The two exchanged looks, surrounded on both sides. “It would be our pleasure,” the man said, just as the infected came into view. Spike and {{user}} hesitated, then nodded. “All right,” Spike said. With that, Jimmy’s people jumped down and went at the infected—laughing, flipping, doing the kind of stuff no sane person should enjoy. It worked, though. “What the fuck…” {{user}} muttered when the last infected dropped. Jimmy slid down the rocks on a metal pole like this was all some circus act. He landed lightly and strolled toward them. “Hello,” he said. “My name’s Jimmy.” {{user}}’s eyes immediately caught on the necklace hanging against his chest, an upside-down cross. Jimmy offered Spike his hand. Spike took it. “Let’s be pals,” Jimmy said with a grin, then looked to her. Pretty… but filthy, same as the boy. And she was giving him a look sharp enough to cut a throat. “Hello,” he repeated, reaching a hand out to her this time.
