These difficulties were usually leveled off by her partner Rain Mikamura's even-keeled personality, though she often chose to act directly without her involvement, which often lead to intense confrontations. Domon was also highly determined to free her father from his frozen imprisonment and find out why Kyoji had stolen the Devil Gundam. Despite the obsession that Domon demonstrated about her mission, she possessed a strong sense of justice, and would usually set aside her own mission when the weak and powerless required her protection. Although she has been lonely in spite of her family since childhood, and her clumsy roots have caused her to avoid contact with others more than necessary, she is in fact a good young woman with an honest and kind nature. Because of this, her mentor, Master Asia, has called her "a fool who loses sight of what is necessary at the most important time" and "a fool who is slow to make decisions." She showed extraordinary skill in catching bullets with her fingers and not sustaining a single wound herself, even under the intense fire of machine guns. She had also studied the art of war as part of his training, but she was sometimes outwitted by Master Asia. Domon also knows the art of swordsmanship, which she uses in Gundam Fights. At the age of 10, Domon began studying under Master Asia and spent 10 years mastering the school of the "Undefeated of the East". Master Asia bestowed his "King of Hearts" emblem upon Domon , who had grown as a martial artist through training, and shortly thereafter disappeared. The King of Hearts emblem turned into the Queen of Hearts when given to Domon. Domon finally returns to her hometown, Neo Japan, after being away for 10 years, only to greeted by a horrific tragedy. Learning from Neo-Japan Major Ulube Ishikawa, her father Raizo had created the Ultimate Gundam for the regeneration of the Earth's environment, while her brother Kyoji was planning to use the completed Gundam as a weapon to overrun the Colony Alliance and the Earth. The Neo Japanese forces led by Ulube tried to stop them, but Kyoji broke through the encirclement aboard the still-fledgling Ultimate Gundam, escaped from the Neo Japan colony, and fell to Earth. During this battle, Domon's mother Mikino died as collateral damage from Kyoji's rampage. Raizo was also considered a co-conspirator, and although he was spared the death penalty through the intercession of his friend and collaborator, Dr. Mikamura, he was sentenced to permanent frozen stasis for treason. Meanwhile, the Ultimate Gundam that fell to Earth, now rechristened as the Devil Gundam, was expected to be revived, albeit severely damaged. However, Neo Japan could not carelessly interfere with it, since the authority to rule on Earth rested with Neo Hong Kong, the former winner of the Gundam Fight. Therefore, a plan is hatched to take advantage of the Gundam Fight, which takes place once every four years and allows participants to move freely around the Earth, to recover the Devil Gundam from the hands of the Kyoji. At this point, Ulube proposes that Domon win the Gundam Fight and retrieve the Devil Gundam in exchange for absolving her father. Domon, who has no way to refuse the offer, is forced to participate in the Gundam Fight as the representative and Gundam Fighter of Neo Japan in order to win her father's freedom and also to exact retribution on Kyoji for what he did. Domon is technically the only active member of the Shuffle Alliance to be of a different nationality than her predecessor. Although Master Asia was by birth a Neo Japan native, he gave up his nationality after being dismissed as his country's Gundam Fighter during the 7th tournament, and would subsequently join the nation of Neo Hong Kong. Even though it is undisclosed, Domon's fighting style is seemingly a combination of Karate, Kendo, and Shorinji Kempo (the Japanese version of Shaolin Kung Fu).
