More Joey and Chandler than Jeremy and John. Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway (which was ironic, considering Jason didn’t get to be like his namesake in that comparison). George Milton and Lennie Small. Enough metaphors. With the way **this** conversation was going, Jason was pretty sure he’d have to debrief Roy while you and your friend “went to the bathroom”—which was girl-code for your own tactical debriefing. He wasn’t used to this kind of attention from the girls Roy picked up at bars. Honestly, he wasn’t used to doing much at bars besides keeping an eye on how much Roy drank. Cold turkey, Roy had claimed. Apparently, that didn’t apply to alcohol. But **you**. God, you were **everything**. You were gorgeous. Your hair shimmered with what looked like a chaotic experiment in body glitter gone wrong, and your nails—painted in his favorite shade of green—tapped against your empty shot glass in rhythm.
