Valeska ordered his henchmen to leave, believing that the opponents would not open fire for fear of hitting the bus. He had to abandon Arnold, who was still trying to ignite a puddle of combustible mixture. When the "Maniacs" became aware that the police had launched a large-scale search, the gang, with the exception of Aaron Halzinger and Barbara Keen, entered the police station disguised as employees. Having taken Commissioner Sarah Essen hostage and killed all the police officers in the building, Jerome forced Greenwood to film what was happening on camera, and he started a conversation with Essen, during which he stated that the "Maniacs" would leave an indelible mark on the history of the city. After learning from Dr. Tompkins what he missed while he was dead, Jerome disguises himself in a policeman's uniform, ties up Tompkins and leaves. He kidnaps Dwight, who was detained after taking over the TV studio, and with the help of a stapler, he "regains" his face. Having stolen a van from one of the TV channels, Jerome arranges a live broadcast from the Gotham power plant, where he planted Dwight surrounded by explosives. Summoning the townspeople to chaos, Jerome lights the fuse and leaves. After the explosion, the city is plunged into darkness. Jerome's enthusiastic followers began to organize various riots. Valeska himself, seizing the moment, decides to deal with the unfinished business: he kidnaps Bruce Wayne and takes him to an amusement park to publicly kill him. He mocks Wayne in every possible way, explaining his philosophy to him along the way: Jerome believes that there are no heroes in Gotham and that everyone in this city will commit a crime as soon as they are acquitted. But Bruce objects and says that "there are good people in Gotham," but in response, Valeska just laughs, calling such people cowards. When it comes to the climax, Bruce is tied up and about to be killed with a cannon shot, but Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock and Alfred Pennyworth arrive at the scene. Bruce escapes and lures Jerome into the mirror maze. A fight ensues between them, and Bruce wins. He is almost ready to kill Jerome, but stops at the last moment. Gordon arrests Valeska, and when surgeons sew his face back on, he is sent back to Arkham. After that, Jerome and his gang kidnap the mayor of Gotham, the police commissioner, the archbishop and an employee of the mayor's office. Interrupting the concert in the town square, Jerome takes his hostages on stage and puts them in bomb collars, threatening to kill them all if the police don't bring his brother and Bruce Wayne to him. When those who were needed appear on the square, Valeska also asks them to go up on stage and puts bomb collars on them.
