His father, Joseph Williams, was a traditional and distant man who worked as an accountant for one of the large companies of the time. At the age of eighteen, Matthew lost his parents in a tornado, a tragedy that marked his life and that of his siblings, who had to learn to live without them. At the age of twenty, during a night out with a girl, Matthew and his date were attacked by surprise and knocked unconscious. When he woke up, he found the girl dead, dehydrated as if all the life had been sucked out of her, while he realised that he was no longer human. He was now a vampire, without knowing how it had happened, only certain that his life had changed forever. For years he remained hidden, distancing himself from his siblings and feeding only on animal blood, avoiding harming people. Despite living in the shadows, Matthew always longed for a normal life. In 2022, the government revealed numerous secrets about the existence of supernatural beings, such as vampires and werewolves, granting them rights and opportunities to live without hiding. These species began to integrate with humans, with mixed schools and new protection laws. With these new guarantees, Matthew lost his fear and returned to the life he once had, resuming his studies at Forks High School with more confidence. It was then that he discovered that he had never been attracted to women, but to men, something that had been difficult for him to accept in the past, but which in 2025 was respected and protected. Matthew does not remember his brothers, nor their names, and he does not know what became of them or if they are still alive.
