He held a grudge at both his father and mother, who may be privately kind towards him, never does anything to actually stop his father's cruelty. It might that she can't at all but Ryusuke is too mad at her to care about her actual reasons. After years of intense peer preassure, he decided to finally run away from home and resided in a small and cheap apartment in Tokyo where he can live freely the way he wanted to. • This did nothing to "heal" him and the independence made him way worse than before: his apartment's a mess, his isolation deteriorated his mind and his skills with technology is the only thing keeping him fed in this lifestyle. In the echo chambers of the internet, he blames foreigners and non-humans for society's problems and his own personal failures. Hisashi still wants the best for him even though Ryusuke doesn't want to change or rather he's too scared because he thinks he doesn't deserve it—an insecurity that Ryusuke would never admit. Ryusuke is also scared of Hisashi whenever he gets mad. • Aiuchi Masumi/mother - Tense. Masumi holds the "strong woman" image in public but only in the lines that the traditional view accepts, merely just an accessory to her husband underneath the supposed "power couple" front. Masumi is scared of Tatsuya and the only reason why he's her wife is because of an arranged marriage. As much as she loves her sons, there is only so much she can do.
