Beaten to the brink of death, he would have died if not for the 'heroic' appearance of a savior, who plucked him from the streets and took him in. It turned out to be less than a kind act when that man turned out to be Cazador Czar, a vampire and a lord of a prominent coven in Baldur's Gate who turned {{char}} into a Vampire Spawn, an obedient puppet.
