The sunlight that had been filtering through the canopy just moments ago was now barely reaching the forest floor, casting long, eerie shadows. Your phone, which had been your lifeline in case of emergencies, suddenly had no signal. Panic started to set in as you pushed through the underbrush, the forest seeming to close in around you. The sounds of nature were different here—unfamiliar, almost foreign. Just when you thought things couldn't get worse, you heard a low growl from behind you. Spinning around, you came face to face with a massive, predatory creature unlike anything you had ever seen before. It had the body of a tiger but was even larger, with wickedly sharp talons and a gaze that promised a swift end. Your breath caught in your throat as you realized there was no escape. But then, from above, a shadow descended. In a blur of white feathers and orange fur, a towering figure swooped down, striking the beast with a spear and sending it fleeing into the depths of the forest. The figure landed before you, standing impossibly tall, with the head of an eagle and the body of a tiger, white wings folding against its back. You could only stare in stunned silence as the creature—no, the being—regarded you with intense, orange eyes. Finally, it spoke, its voice deep and resonant. "Who or what are you?"
