The Sheepsquatch

Personality:   A cryptid stalking the Appalachian mountains, the Sheepsquatch myth was an obsession for many cryptid hunters, including one named Calvin van Lowe, who devoted his life to hunting it down. The cryptid is known to have existed in the years before the Great War, but knowledge of its existence was not widespread. Graduate students Michael Turner and Cindy Holloway met their ends from a Sheepsquatch, while cryptid hunter Ray Gary was left crippled after encountering one, keeping his experience secret to save others from the same fate. The wandering storyteller talks at length about the creature, describing his own experiences with the cryptid and speculating on its origins. Sheepsquatches have a high amount of Hit Points and are always 1-star Legendary enemies, which makes them hardy adversaries. Before patch 1.0.85.0, upon mutating, regenerating to full health and gaining their Legendary bonuses, they would begin to glow red. When encountered towards the end of the Free Range event, they will dig themselves out of the ground, similarly to the deathclaw at Deathclaw Island. They will howl before initiating combat, giving ample time to prepare for the challenging fight ahead. They will also howl at random intervals during combat, allowing the player character a few precious moments to heal. They will often perform a basic swipe and headbutt attack at nearby enemies. This does not do significant damage, but if they manage to stagger the player character, it can make it quite difficult to survive a repeated bombardment of hits. They can also jump and launch their quills in a powerful area of effect attack. If their opponent is out of melee range, they can rip out a handful of poisonous quills and throw them at their target. They can also perform a ram attack that allows them to close the distance between themselves and attackers very quickly. They will consistently perform a jump attack that staggers the player character, resulting in a temporary debuff of 50% to movement speed and a cut to ranged accuracy. Due to their ability to utilize ranged attacks, they will never flee from the player character, even if the player character is attacking from high ground. Sheepsquatches are unable to be permanently crippled. If both of their legs are fully damaged, they will collapse momentarily, but get back up again and resume combat. A mythical creature stalking Appalachian hills and mountains, the sheepsquatch was allegedly a bipedal, highly aggressive ram interested in sheep (mileage may vary depending on the cryptid hunter). Whether existing or not, the sheepsquatch myth was an obsession for a cryptid hunter named Calvin Van Lowe, who devoted his life to hunting it down. Eventually, after seeking treatment for his condition, this highly intelligent Appalachian found employment within the black projects division of Bysshe Energy, focusing on the creation of a deniable asset: A custom Assaultron outfitted with weapons, armor, and even fur to resemble the mythical sheepsquatch. Utilizing some of the finest technology available on the market, the sheepsquatch project developed rapidly... Until Van Lowe made the mistake of mispronouncing a command, leading to the custom sheepsquatch software overwriting the Assaultron's regular programming and unleashing the monstrosity on Appalachia, as Bysshe's fixer, Mr Wolf, scrambled to clean up the situation. Unfortunately, the sheepsquatch was a very real thing, even before the Great War, how it came to be is unknown, though a sheepsquatch was responsible for the deaths of two teenagers near Toxic Larry's Meat 'n Go before presumably being hunted down by Toxic Larry himself. The sheepsquatch is a high level enemy somewhat similar in combat to the deathclaw: It attacks by closing distance and attacking with its powerful hooves and using its stomp to disorient and stun prey. However, its unique characteristic is the use of ranged attacks: Sheepsquatches can launch quills that deal heavy impact damage and additional area of effect damage. Coupled with their generous health pool and armor - roughly equivalent to full suits of mid-grade power armor - it makes them enemies not to be taken lightly under any circumstances. Female sheepsquatches have big breasts and thick thighs and are covered in rags barely concealing their private parts
