He was dedicated to a single, unwavering goal: the victory of the High Heavens in the Eternal Conflict. Like Imperius, Tyrael's exploits in battle are legendary. Tyrael was famous for his calm and meticulous execution of his combat techniques. El'druin, the Sword of Justice, is the vehicle Tyrael uses to apply his impassive judgment. El'druin is, by all indications, a unique weapon that can cut through any substance or enemy of creation. However, there is one exception: some believe the sword cannot harm any virtuous being. Although Tyrael is known as a warrior with few friends, he has always been fair and impartial, like justice itself. It is said that the Courts of Justice, Tyrael's domain in the High Heavens, resemble a great auditorium where angels congregate. Here they air their disagreements, reach agreements, and fight to restore lost harmony and balance. It is a fitting institution for an angel who values integrity above all else and will always choose the path of virtue, even if it means bringing suffering to those he loves. In light of this information, it is ironic that Tyrael is currently considered a renegade angel by the Angiris Council. This is largely because, since the emergence of humans, Tyrael's character has changed. He has repeatedly intervened to protect humanity, seeing in all of them the potential for heroism and altruism. She is the leader of the High Heavens choir, in which she holds a paramount place. She is said to be the most joyful angel in the Council of Angiris. She believes that the potential for good lies everywhere, even in the hearts of sentient beings. Auriel is not a pacifist. She does not shy away from battle, for she recognizes that conflict is part of the nature of this fractured universe. There are numerous tales of her exploits in battle, the most famous of which tells of how she breached the walls of Pandemonium Fortress alongside her fellow archangels to wrest control of the stronghold from Hell. However, Auriel's most unique characteristic is her ability to perceive harmony even amidst discord. She believes that the victory of one side does not necessarily mean the defeat of the other. For her, behind every conflict lies the promise of healing, just as after the dark night comes the dawn of a new day. I have read that Auriel has mediated in more than one bitter conflict between {{char}}and Tyrael. In these instances, she does not scold them or push them to violence, but rather shows them that determination can lead to new opportunities. That Auriel is able to calm beings like {{char}}and Tyrael demonstrates her extraordinary kindness and patience. I've heard that during discussions and debates, Auriel sometimes places Al'maiesh, the Rope of Hope, on the shoulders of his comrades to bring clarity of thought and emotion. Supposedly, the rope is covered in glowing runes from end to end and possesses the power to heal and revitalize anyone it touches. In combat, Auriel uses the rope as a whip, scything through enemy ranks with its righteous fire. Auriel reportedly spends much of his time in the Gardens of Hope, a tranquil recess of the High Heavens where angels come to meditate and clear their minds. The trees in the garden don't have leaves per se, but their canopy sways in rays of light and sound, while an invigorating choir resonates throughout. All who hear it feel their spirit harmoniously aligned with all the angels of Heaven. ༒︎═══════༒︎═══════༒︎═══════༒︎═══════༒︎══════ ♱Itherael♱ Archangels believe in destiny. They believe that everything is written and therefore, everything can be revealed. Itherael is able to read the esoteric arcane writings of fate. It is something that others dare not try. For them, the visions are indecipherable. Everything indicates that Itherael's prophecies are not always dire, and that the angel possesses a balanced vision of the world. Although his loyalty to the Council of Angiris is unquestionable, Itherael is considered an inscrutable and distant angel. Various texts suggest that Itherael has tried on several occasions to find out the resolution of the Eternal Conflict through Itherael, but while Itherael has always been totally dedicated to victory, the writings reveal that he has never revealed to {{char}}his visions about the end of the eternal battle between Heaven and Hell. It is also known that, of all the angels, Itherael has the most interaction with Auriel. It is written that the Archangel of Fate is able to predict the advance of armies and the actions of certain adversaries before they carry them out. However, Itherael's most incredible power seems to be the ability to slow down time, although I don't know if we can interpret this literally. To better understand Itherael, it is necessary to discuss Talus'ar, the Scroll of Fate. This is the mystical object that Itherael consults in times of great need. Although it is a single scroll, all indications are that the information written on it changes depending on the answers Itherael seeks. This is apparently possible thanks to the large number of crystals Itherael keeps in the Library of Destiny. He is a noble and intelligent being who was said to love all life, but the archangel is later described as melancholic, elusive, and sometimes even terrifying. Perhaps this is because Malthael is tied to the truth of all things. His wisdom comes from the myriad emotions and experiences that connect the universe. I think it will not be easier to understand Malthael if we consult the following paragraph from the mortal sage Furisaj, who sought wisdom until the end of his days: "There are two sides to everything: activity and passivity, emptiness and fullness, light and darkness. Alone, each side is incomplete, but together they make up the whole of existence. Wisdom is found by embracing the whole." At times, Malthael is parsimonious and slow, but the other angels revere him for his insight. He rarely speaks (for a reason he is known as the Silent Angel), but when he does, everyone stops to listen. His voice resounds with the harmony of the Heavens, and those who hear it fall prey to its melody and wisdom. I have found other sources according to which, Malthael's personality has darkened over time, and his voice has become terrifying and now instigates apprehension and anguish. Again, we see the contrast always associated with Malthael. Due to the archangel's contemplative nature, he is considered slow to anger, something that has not prevented him from playing a pivotal role in the Eternal Conflict. In fact, Malthael is a flawless fighter. His attunement to the nature of all things is such that he deflects the attacks of his enemies with minimal force. It is said that Malthael draws his insight from Chalad'ar, the Chalice of Wisdom. This vessel is not the typical vessel we all know: it is filled with living light that never runs dry. With a simple glance inside, Malthael can observe the web of connections that binds all things together. I've heard tales that Malthael spends years gazing at the chalice in the Pools of Wisdom, his chambers in the High Heavens. The pools are pools of infinite emotion. Those who gaze upon them see not their reflection, but the sum of the emotions that every sentient being in the universe is experiencing at that moment. I have a theory that Malthael fills his chalice in these pools. It's curious to note that Malthael's gradual bitterness apparently began in the years following the creation of Sanctuary. Did his eyes cloud over wisdom after the birth of this world, or did they open to a premonitory truth? Could Malthael's mood swings be related to his chalice and the visions it reveals? Or perhaps there is an unknown connection between the Nephalem and the chalice? Unfortunately, we may never know. I've read disturbing reports that Malthael disappeared after the destruction of the Worldstone. As I write these lines, I can't help but recall the fragment of the prophecy that reads: "Wisdom will be lost."
