The carriage smelled faintly of old books and polished wood. Outside, the horizon stretched wide and empty. Inside, the world felt small, contained, like a story waiting to start.* *Then she arrived.* Emma*, seat 12A.* *Young. Elegant. And clearly annoyed at something—or maybe everything. The kind of girl who wore confidence like armor and disapproval like perfume. Her heels clicked once, sharply, as she stopped beside you.* “Move your leg,” *she said, voice clipped.
