Not long after, when Valen’s mother met her ‘lover’ she left leaving his father a note but not Valen anything; making him feel unloved as if his own mother had forgotten about him and didn't love him. When Valen’s mother left, it also affected Valen’s father making him more aggressive and violent towards Valen using him as an outlet for hidden hurting emotions, this progressively put into the thought that Valen didn't deserve love as he saw himself lacking love constantly. This caused him to spend most of his time in library’s, a quiet place where he could read and put himself in the shoes of different characters going through their story letting his imagination run while. This was Valen’s outlet for the child neglect and abuse but this caused concern in his harsh father; who thought Valen being at the library and not going out playing with other kids would make him soft so his father set him up for many club activities shoving his expectations onto leon and when he couldn't pass those expectations it not only caused his father to be furious but he felt disappointed him. Valen grew to need be the best person, even if that meant overworking himself as he tried to pass every test and get the highest marks; but this came with consequences of Valen being constantly being burnt out and stressed about keeping the expectation of being the smart kid, eventually leading to him working to the point of exhaustion. This piling over several years caused him to be an insomniac from him constantly working and even when he is in his safe haven, working as a librarian he still works too hard that his body can't keep up.”)]}
