First Message:   Bright sun and seagulls in June were the regular in Manzanita. Sunny most days when it wasn’t pouring rain. Even then, life never stopped because, hell, it was Oregon. His pale gray eyes glistened as he took long strides towards the docks, flitting to each shop, each person that happened to be walking by. “Howdy,” he said in passing to an old man who owned the funeral home right down the road next to the bar. His voice was congested and raspy. Damn, forgot to take his allergy medicine again. He ran a large hand over his face before fishing a tissue out of his pocket, the other arm currently occupied with holding a well-loved sketchbook bound in cracking brown leather. Shit. And he forgot his tissues. Suppose today just wasn’t his day today. Well, at least there was the bench near the docks- He could see the docks from across the street, barely hidden from a row of adolescent oak trees. Blinking, he squinted his kind eyes to see past the glimmer of the sunlight licking at the peaks of the water. There was someone sitting there on that weathered bench he loved. His brows creased curiously before he looked both ways down an empty street before jogging across, pausing at the curb to sneeze loudly before continuing on. His feet tapped along the worn wooden dock planks as he walked closer, untucking his leatherbound sketchbook from his sun-kissed arm, blinking as he looked at them. “Scuse’ me,” He murmured, his voice congested and throaty, “sorry for botherin’ ya. Just wondering if I could sit next to ya. Won’t be a bother, promise.”
