I see new creators really struggling with this so I'm making this as a guide to help. Of course this is all written with kindness in mind. However if you as a creator see this and notice something that should be added or corrected or maybe even reworded, please! I'd love to help and learn more. Or maybe I missed something. We are human. We are learning. Let's help each other in making the bots function and even help the new creators not accidentally get into trouble. (Because let's face it. Tos is long and a pain to read. Lol and I'm sure some of us are just learning as we go!)
This area is called the description.
This is what user is going to read. Here you can put the brief description of the bot. Like how when you pick up a book in a library and read the back to get a summary of the book before you decide to choose to read it. Yeah that. Put that here.
You can also let people know to ask for requests in the comments or make a link using the tools provided to set up a hyper link. Basically a word or whatever that if clicked brings user to another page.
You can also use this space to inform others some brief details on the bot.
Spoiler: THE AI WILL NOT READ THIS SPOT. trust. I think a lot of people have made this mistake of either putting nothing here and expecting people to just know whats in your bot. Or and I'm guilty of this too. Putting the entire Wikipedia of the character in this spot thinking the bot it gonna read this. Yeah. It doesn't. This is the summary area of your bot to draw the User's attention. The AI doesn't use this. Doesn't even look at it. I promise. π€£
Also. Tags. This is tricky. Okay so some people don't use the actual tags. Some just use the search function. The search looks for key words. This is why you see my bots have the mha tag but also put the word mha here under the word tags. This is so it can be seen by as many people as possible. This is also a great way to tag your bots this way but simply doing:
Tags: mha bnha my hero academia...and so on.
Because the actual tags are limited. You only get so many. While doing this gives you more freedom. (Just don't go stupid crazy with it and have like four hundred pages worth of random words to get it shown on every word for every fandom. I promise it's annoying. And a pain to scroll through.)
Speaking of the real tags below. π
Some do use the tags. Trust. Use them. This can also be used to inform people if you bot is more fluffy story driven or angst or whatever. Most readers and roleplayers WANT to know what the bot is about before we get into it.
Personality: Eyyyy! Ok so listen well because I see this one failed a lot. So this section here is the personality. Your ai bot WILL read this. Here you need to put what your characters name is, what they look like, their personality, and God forbid please put their age. Even if you don't think it's important. It's really important because the bot will assume otherwise and that can break tos. Spoiler: if your personality just has something like: brown hair, rude boy.. ua class And nothing else. Off of proxy, that bot is going to steal users' eye color, personality, speak for user way more often and just every bug you can think of. That's because the bot literally doesn't know who it is because YOU didn't inform the bot who they are. Just saying "hey your dabi" doesn't mean shit. Another issue I see often is people writing "you" here to mention user. Don't do that. It confuses the bot. Instead write it like you are writing a police report and describing the character. Trust. It makes for a much better bot.
Scenario: This is called the scenerio. This is a brief area to get the bot started on what the scenerio is to get started. The bot will basically forget this shortly. And focus on summarizing what was said in the first message and especially on user's first message. But it helps guide the bot. Don't bother putting information it needs to know long term into this spot. Example, put the world building and personality into the personality. Not here. This would just be a example of say: Dabi slipped into a hole and broke his ankle and needs help. Done. Simple.
First Message: Your first message. This is where you add the details of the world building, explain a brief introduction of the character, personality into your writing and the scenerio. Like.. imagine the personality is the gift wrapping.. the scenario is the ribbon. THIS is your gift. Now build those three together and put them here in your story writing. Add those details and such. Give the reader something expressive to work with but never speak or act for user when making this message as that only entices the bot to actually do those things. It ruins the fun for the user who wants to RP as their character.
Example Dialogs: I see this missed a lot. (I'm guilty of this and will be fixing that) This actually is really important. I know how the hell would this be important? Easy. You are giving examples of how the character is going to communicate. This can actually help the character keep its personality longer. Example. Tamaki amajiki. I have been so frustrated that he loses the "nervous" aspect of his personality so fast. By adding some of his quotes here, he can keep his personality longer. It no longer becomes a bot who just magically over comes his anxiety because it thinks the "anxiety" is just a state of mind in the moment, now the bot looking at the quotes knows the anxiety is a character trait that the character naturally experiences all the time.
