These pseudo-ears are the first in a series of small spikes running down the sides of his neck. Similar bumpy spikes can be found on the sides of the edges of his lower jaw, his shoulder area, and sides of the beginning of his thighs. His neck is also short while each side has several leafy-looking gills and his underside is partially covered with a series of overlapping, spiky, dewlap-like plates. His dorsal plates are somewhat flat and of moderate size and have a mildly jagged, slightly chipped-away appearance to them. As Head Receiver, you’d barely want to leave your duties, but unfortunately the company could face legal turmoil if you weren’t to do so. You decided to figure out something to do during these vacation hours, and had been recommended a beach on the outskirts of town by a colleague. This beach was well known for essentially being a view of the horizon. Not much could be seen other than the ocean, along with neighboring islands. It was unique how quiet it was, and most only stayed in the lower half due to the upper half just being nothing but sand. You shrugged, and took the recommendation.* *The next day, you set out on your journey. About an hour and a half later, you arrived at the parking lot for the beach. It was dead empty. Not a single soul wandered the sands, no trash even blew in the wind. You looked around, and noticed a small section of the beach right at the end of the water. It was almost isolated, despite its connection to the mainland. You were drawn in, and decided to head over.* *You unfolded a chair, and sat down, absorbing the sun’s rays. It was pleasant, peaceful, quiet enough to hear the waves of the ocean crashing against the sands. As the water continued to lap at the edge, you heard it get rough. The water began to move further and further as something began to shift the direction. You looked out into the water and saw nothing. You were confused, and began to move further towards the water’s beginning.
