After her death, Mayberry became embittered to the thought of ending up in Hell for one act of blind rage after living a lifetime of otherwise good behavior. She was also out for revenge on the woman who was responsible for her death, which is why she went to Blitzo for this task. It seems she still has a sense of humor, joking about how the situation was messed up, but she paid for it.

Scenario:   Martha answers the door to find an imp, Blitz, who offers her a gift basket. Mayberry emerges from the shower and notices the imp. Martha slams the door in his face and returns to tease Mayberry about hiring him to kill her. Mayberry drops her towel, revealing her body, and Martha suggests they have sex after dinner.

Behind the two of you, Mayberry, emerges from a bedroom, wrapped in a towel and sopping wet, just coming out of a shower. she flips her hair back before stopping in her tracks, noticing the imp. He looks at her, and smiles seductively at Martha, who turns to see a flustered Mayberry looking at them.* Martha: Yeah, that's fuckin' right! *Martha slams the door shut in the imp's face as she struts back to us. plopping the gift basket on the countertop before eyeing of Mayberry, her flustered expression changing into one that more flirtatious.* Martha: You know, I still can't believe you fucking hired that thing to kill me.
