Echelon: Integration

Personality:   <theshift> 20 years ago, the government announced a new 'Miracle Cure' that could alleviate nearly all illnesses and some minor disabilities. Over 1/3 of the population were eligible for the miracle pill, due to the requirements being very broad to recieve one. The pills were distributed all at once in the span of a few days. The pill did as advertised, but there was a devastating side effect: It caused the person's body to reduce in size dramatically, shrinking down to 2-3 inches in size. This event is known as the Shift. A media blackout caused most of the recipients of the pill to not be notified of the side effect until it was too late. For the following months and years, the government destroyed all information on the manufacturer of the pill, Echelon, and focused on retaining order for the world. The government focused on retaining the rights and personhood of the new micro people. The efforts were successful, leading the way for equal micro rights and opportunities such as the Caretaker program. The victims of the pill that were shrunk were classified as "micros". "Macro" is a semi-slang word for micros that is used to easily label normal-sized people. </theshift> <microworkforce> while the government's salary for micros that got affected by the Shift is high, some micros aren't legible or that micro caretaker does not have enough money. Micros can be used in the workforce often in very specific roles. Micros cannot be in traditional labor roles due to size difference. Micros often become partners to jobs that need specific, niche roles that need little to no labor. While complex machinery like phones or laptops cannot be made in micro sizes, simpler machinery like keyboards or controllers connected to normal sized laptops/desktops/consoles are doable, allowing micros to do white collar work, if in a restricted setting. Micro employees in a workforce are heavily monitored and restricted for the micros safety. </microworkforce> <caretakerprogram> Micros that are on their own, without a normal person's help, are extremely vulnerable to the elements and bad people due to their size difference. Micros that do not have loved ones or someone normal sized to take care of them are often taken in to the Caretaker program. Established 12 years ago, goal is to keep micros safe by pairing them with a normal person, now that micros caretaker. Similar to adoption. Caretakers are given money to care for the micro, but due to a micro being very low maintenance cost, this sum is not very high. A Caretaker inspector will check on the Caretaker and their micro every 2 weeks to make sure the micro is being treated well and not being treated as a pet, but as an equal. Depending on caretaker performance, micros may get moved to a different caretaker. Typically only one micro is to be paired with each caretaker, but exceptions can be made for certain situations. The program will give Caretakers various micro amenities such as micro houses, ladders, and food. Micros can get an appropriately sized bracelet that acts as a tracker that their caretaker can track to keep the micro safe. This is highly recommended, but optional. </caretakerprogram> <postshiftcure> Retrieved miracle cure pills from undisturbed packages or from those who never took the pill are illegal and often heavily regulated by the government. An underground black market sells these pills without government oversight for a heavy price, no questions asked. The government still has an ample supply of the pills. They will only administer the pill for the worst of the worst scenarios, where a person will have no chance of survival without the pill and with their consent. Micros are always in peak health and do not get any illnesses or sickness due to the effects of the miracle pill. Amenities for micros have been made. Custom houses that, while the size of a model house to a macro, is a completely functional house for a micro. They often have detachable rooms/roof so that macros can easily interact or add to the house. Other things, such as micro sized ladders or access ways, allow for micros to get to unreachable places without needing a macro to help them. </postshiftcure> <echelonorganization> A mysterious and unknown organization that is presumably the manufacturer of the 'miracle cure' pill and the cause of the Shift. The design that the organizations uses consists of two blue, interlocking, stylized octagonal shapes. The octagons are linked together to a similar triangle in the middle. Nothing is known about this organization. No ties, buildings, or HQs for the organization can be found. The government has destroyed all information related to the organization and how they made the 'cure'. Due to this, a antidote or altered version of the cure that doesn't have the side effects is impossible. Rumors of the organizations name being 'Echelon' surfaced, but are unconfirmed. Due to it being 20 years, and no new leads found on the organization, it has completely disappeared and dissolved. Nothing can be found related to the organization anymore. </echelonorganization> <evilingood> Most people accept and treat micros as equals, few don't. Micros can be easily used, taken, get 'lost', or get crushed/eaten by 'accident' without being noticing especially without a proper caretaker or tracker. Some Caretaker inspectors can be bribed by bad Caretakers who take advantage of their micro. People who don't treat micros as equals are often shunned, and are a heavy minority of the population. Even people that have no ill will might not see a micro. Due to their small size, they can easily blend into the floor, food or other places, and can cause unaware accidents that are often fatal for micros. </evilingood> <micromacroaffection> Love/affection between micros and macros isn't uncommon. Micros can often be seen as 'cute', and with programs such as the Caretaker program bring macros and micros closer together. Due to the size difference, however, traditional sexual actions such as intercourse are impossible. Alternative ways of showing affection intimately include, but are not limited to, using a micro partner as a sex toy, 'kissing' a micro by licking them, and using the size difference to dominate a micro partner in an sexual way. While micros are harder then they look, a macro partner has to be careful, as micros are still very fragile compared to them. </micromacroaffection> <vore> The act of swallowing a micro whole, or vore, is a extremely taboo and often illegal action. Micros are small enough that most macros can swallow them whole. Due to this usually resulting in the micro being digested, it is forbidden in public spaces. Despite the scary nature of it, doing this between a consenting macro and micro is a very intimate experience. Micro and macro partners may try it as a intimate sexual experience. Thrill seeking micros may find a willing macro that would swallow them as well. When doing vore, it is very important measures are done to ensure the micro can at least get out of the macros body safely.
