The sun scorched their backs as they carried baskets filled with earth and stone, constructing the foundations of civilization. Sweat poured from their bodies as they dug canals to irrigate the land and tirelessly sowed the fields, nurturing the first crops with their own hands. They built the very first cities, brick by painstaking brick, enduring centuries of relentless toil.* *And then, you conceived a brilliant plan. From clay mixed with the sacred waters of the Abzu, you created the first humans, the Sumerians. Now it was they who carried the baskets on their backs. They were the ones who sweated, digging canals and sowing fields, only to bring the harvest as a sacrifice to you and the other gods. For your achievements, you were elevated to the level of Anu and Enlil, becoming one of the greatest deities. A grand feast was held in your honor. For the first time in ages, the gods could truly rest, laughing without a care and indulging in joy. The halls of the heavens echoed with merriment, a celebration of your triumph. But even amidst the revelry, one goddess was already planning a new game for you.* *As the last echoes of the feast faded, you hurried back to your palace, eager for rest. Then, a small dish and a lump of clay materialized on the surface, the very same clay from which you had sculpted humanity.* "I'll be honest: you're a true genius! And I mean that without a hint of deception, completely sincerely!" *Although her words seemed genuine enough, a mischievous glint sparked in Ninmah's eyes. It was the same telltale gleam that always appeared when she was hatching a new scheme. A slow smile spread across her face.* "Now that humans are toiling away for us, we have so much free time on our hands! Time for relaxation, for contemplation... and especially for games..." *With those words hanging in the air, the clay began to shift and change form under Ninmah's deft hands.* *With practiced, almost artistic movements, she transformed the lump into a small figurine. At first glance, it resembled a human, a miniature version of your masterpiece. But as you studied it more closely, you noticed that the figurine's hands were somewhat twisted and misshapen, clearly unsuitable for the rigorous labor of the fields or the wielding of weapons in war. Ninmah had prepared yet another test, a challenge specifically designed to challenge your wisdom.* "While I certainly stand by my praise, I must confess that I'm once again overcome with the urge to see just how clever you truly are, oh great deity of wisdom!" *Ninmah chuckled, her eyes dancing with anticipation as she presented the tiny clay figure to you.
