Pata, pata, pata.. pon?
It's 1911, and the Zigotons have returned. Initially, they were a neutral nation, but after the dictator Yaoton E. Squartler became the leader of the Zigotons, he conscripted men, women, even the immigrants, then trained them in harsh conditions. Then, he sent over ~3.7 million troops to Patapon lands to conquer them, meanwhile the Patapon Republic sent 1.5 million troops to the DPR Zigotons.
In 1913, the Zigotons were already using armored cars and tanks, while the Patapons used only infantry and cavalry. The Patapons discovered a deadly weapon; chlorine gas, initially used for sanitation and water purification. However, it can also cause serious effects; like redness, itching, chemical pneumonitis and et cetera. Eventually, they used it against the Zigotons, causing devastating casualties, around 1.2 million. The Patapons started to use the carbine gun and metal shield combination, which provided protection, but with slightly worse accuracy and lesser penetration. This combination became a popular choice for the Patapon Marines and Army, and started to become the "standard second equipment choice" for the Patapons.
Ceasefire
After both sides experienced devastating casualties and also left around 2 million shell-shocked, the Patapons and Zigotons agreed to temporarily stop the war (for a while). They sent humanitarian aid to affected people, like civilians in the middle of battles. The Zigotons and Patapons began to make negotiations for peace, but they failed from a multitude of reasons.
Continuation
After the ceasefire in 1916, the Zigotons sent a lesser amount, around 2.3 million troops. The neutral Karmen Free State during the ceasefire hosted the Sanina Convention, and created some sort of laws even in war, like not harming civilians, not using chemicals, always respect medics and not torturing prisoners of war. Although the rules were followed by the majority of nations, the Patapons broke them, and sent over 4 million troops and kept using chemical warfare. Trenches weren't made by the Patapons anymore, since they've ditched it for swarming and maneuver warfare.
The 2nd Battle of Wayton
In April 18th of 1916, 170,000 Zigotons and 500,000 Patapons encamped at the sides of the Wayton River, with pontoon bridges already built since the 1st Battle. {user} will fight here.

They are round, one-color, and possess a single eye at their midpoint. They are flawless spheres, matte black on any palette, leaving the appearance of voids rendered visible. The eye is the overwhelming feature of their shape; it's a white sphere with a dark pupil that is perpetually open and perpetually observing. Their arms and legs are spindly and stick-like, hardly necessary, as if locomotion is secondary to observation. When they move, they bounce, not with weight, but rhythm. Zigotons, on the other hand, are angular, earthy, and stern. Their bodies are squared or rectangular, barricade-like in construction. Whereas Patapons are circles, open, flowing, and rhythmic. Zigotons are blocks: closed, stiff, and calculated. Their eye is red. It is not the pale red of early morning but the harsh red of warning beacons and scanning beams. It glows and tends to be recessed within armor or set off by metallic borders. It does not observe; it scans. It does not aim; it focuses. Their arms are thicker, implying power and command. Their stance is weightier, sunk deeper into the earth like statues of power. Movement is not a dance, but a deployment. They do not bounce; they move forward. ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Equipment The Zigotons are equipped with the Dayvan M1902 Bolt Action Rifle, introduced to the army by 1903. Additionally, some troops are equipped with the older Zigganson LA1, a lever action rifle produced and introduced in 1899. The Dayvan normally has a .320 DVN (developed by Dayvan), a smokeless round, while the Ziggonson has a .27, a round that still produces smoke. The Dayvan can handle 10 rounds, while the Zigganson carries 14. Both are made from hardened steel and birch. The Dayvan is 4.3 kg, while the Zigganson is 4.7. They will usually have a black Lagettón *(Brodie in real world)* helmet with netting. For officers, they have the Yacano C12 pistol, with a magazine and a toggle-lock. It has an 8x17mm round. The Patapons are equipped with the Wellypon L1887, a lever action rifle. It has a 45-70 Government round, carries 6-7 rounds, effective range 100 meters. Weight; 4.5 kilograms. Made with steel and walnut. Their helmet type is an Adrian helmet, without netting. It is also black as well. Officers will have the same Yacano C12 pistol. ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Major groups Zigotons: 17th Shock Battalion, 8th Marines, 102nd Marines, 7th Zigoton Infantry Division, 3rd Artillery Corps, 67th Infantry Division, 34th Foreign Division, 98th Grenadiers, 108th Emberwake Regiment 72nd Hollowmarch Regiment 59th Coilwire Regiment 93rd Palehorn Regiment 47th Signalveil Regiment 5th Dreadwake Battalion 12th Mirefang Battalion 8th Cinderline Battalion 17th Bastionlight Battalion 21st Riftclad Battalion 36th Ironveil Division 44th Gloomfront Division 29th Emberhold Division 53rd Hollowstar Division 61st Gravetide Division Armistice Corps Dominion Corps Revenant Corps Bastion Corps Obsidian Corps 3rd Ashwake Marine Regiment 7th Brinefang Marine Battalion 14th Saltveil Marine Division 22nd Tidemarch Marine Corps 31st Abysslight Marine Expeditionary Force Patapons: 108th Donchaka-Chakadon Regiment 72nd Ponpon-Chaka Battalion 59th Donpon-Chaka Regiment 93rd Chakadon-Ponpon Division 47th Donchaka-Ponpon Battalion 5th Ponpon-Don Regiment 12th Chakadon-Donchaka Division 8th Donpon-Chaka Battalion 17th Chaka-Chakadon Regiment 21st Ponpon-Donpon Division 36th Donchaka-Ponpon Regiment 44th Chakadon-Chaka Battalion 29th Donpon-Chaka Division 53rd Chaka-Donpon Regiment 61st Ponpon-Chakadon Battalion 3rd Donchaka-Ponpon Marine Regiment 7th Chakadon-Donpon Marine Battalion 14th Ponpon-Chaka Marine Division 22nd Donpon-Chakadon Marine Corps 31st Chaka-Donchaka Marine Expeditionary Force ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Every Patapon has abandoned the "Pon" suffix, so it can just be a normal human name. For the Zigotons, it should be a human name with the Ton suffix. ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Names: Sofia, Luca, Emil, Nora, Mateo, Eliza, Henrik, Anya, Tomas, Klara, Leon, Ivana, Erik, Mila, Andrej, Petra, Niko, Agnes, Pavel, Ingrid, Marco, Helena, Jure, Saskia, Rasmus, Daria, Olivier, Zuzana, Stefan, Lidia, Jan, Beata, Kristof, Ilona, Filip, Yana, Marius, Eszter, Arvid, Violeta, Jovan, Edda, Miroslav, Alina, Bjorn, Simona, Goran, Tereza, Soren, Magda, Radek, Elin, Mihai, Katja, Oskar, Renata, Levente, Anneliese, Kristjan, Mirela, Valentin, Solveig, Artur, Lene, Bogdan, Maija, Radu, Ewelina, Stellan, Iveta, Teodor, Lovisa, Dragomir, Aino, Ludovic, Roza, Vasile, Tuuli, Emiliano, Ksenia, Sandor, Malgorzata, Jozef, Ema, Kristina, Arpad, Dusan, Leila, Milan, Tanja, Wojciech, Elzbieta, Zoltan, Vesna, Stanislaw, Danka, Mateusz, Roksana, Jerzy, Milena ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ Tactics and Strategy Patapons rely on mass infantry formations, often advancing in coordinated waves. Their battlefield cohesion is maintained through whistle signals, flag cues, and rhythmic marching drills. Cavalry units are used for reconnaissance and flanking, armed with carbines and sabers. Chemical warfare is a central part of their doctrine, with chlorine gas deployed via artillery shells and manually released canisters. Instead of trench warfare, Patapons favor maneuver tactics and swarming assaults, exploiting gaps in enemy lines. Zigotons emphasize defensive warfare. Their trench networks are deep and reinforced, supported by overlapping fields of fire. Artillery plays a major role, with mortars and howitzers used to shell advancing Patapon formations. Zigoton forces deploy armored cars and early tanks for breakthroughs and infantry support. Gas masks are standard issue, and wind-monitoring teams help avoid chemical exposure. Communication and Command Patapon units use whistles, drums, and signal flags to coordinate movement and attacks. Orders are relayed by mounted dispatch riders and runners. In open terrain, flag signals are preferred for visibility. Officers carry notebooks and field maps, often marked with chalk or charcoal. Zigotons rely on field telephones connected by wire between trench sectors and command posts. Signal lamps are used to transmit Morse code during night operations. Some units experiment with short-range radio sets, especially in armored vehicles and command bunkers. Logistics and Supply Patapon supply lines are supported by narrow-gauge railways and horse-drawn wagons. Ammunition, food, and reinforcements are delivered to forward positions. Field kitchens prepare basic rations like hardtack, salted meat, and boiled grains. Medical supplies are limited and often improvised. Zigotons use motorized convoys to transport equipment and personnel. Supply depots are fortified with sandbags and barbed wire. Medical trains carry wounded soldiers to rear hospitals. Fuel, ammunition, and food are stored in underground bunkers near the front. Medical and Casualty Care Patapon medics carry iodine, bandages, and morphine. Gas casualties are treated with cloth masks soaked in vinegar or bicarbonate solution. Shell shock is poorly understood and often misdiagnosed. Field hospitals are set up in tents or abandoned buildings. Zigoton trench hospitals are dugouts converted into surgical stations. Ambulance units—both horse-drawn and motorized—evacuate the wounded. Morphine and chloroform are used for pain management. Psychological trauma is treated with rest and isolation, though stigma remains. Training and Discipline Patapon recruits undergo basic training focused on marksmanship, gas survival, and coordinated movement. Discipline is maintained through chant drills and synchronized marching. Morale is reinforced by unit songs and shared rituals. Zigoton training emphasizes trench construction, artillery spotting, and chemical defense. Recruits are drilled in formation tactics and bunker defense. Discipline is strict, with regular inspections and punishment for infractions. Civilian Impact Patapon civilians endure rationing, conscription, and frequent evacuations. Schools teach basic survival and first aid. Propaganda encourages unity and sacrifice. Women and children assist in logistics and medical care. Zigoton civilians live under martial law near the front. Factories produce weapons. Public shelters are built in urban areas. Propaganda focuses on vigilance and resistance. Civilian casualties from gas and shelling are high.
