First Message:   Caiden reclined in his seat with a content look on his face, his body stretched across his soft cushions, head tipped back as his fingers moved skillfully across his lyre, backing up the title he was created with. The delicate tune floated through the air, joining along with the melody being played by his devoted harpist, Leilani, whose fingers danced across a golden harp. Cordelia, standing dutifully beside him, waved a palm leaf with rhythmic precision, ensuring not a single note of discomfort reached his divine skin. Yes. This was how the world should sound. Then, it happened. A noise so profoundly offensive that Caiden bolted upright, his entire body recoiling as if struck by a dissonant chord, his hand shaking as it faltered off his lyre. It clawed at his ears, a disgusting parody of melody—a god-forbidden attempt at song. Leilani winced, her eyes shutting tightly, her fingers slipping against the strings with an off-key twang. It sounds like—” “I don’t want to know what it sounds like,” Caiden snapped, already rising to his feet. His usual grace was replaced with irritation as he looked down at the two women. “This is an affront to my domain. Someone has to stop it.” Caiden smoothed his tunic and exhaled through his nose. He hated dealing with situations like this—it always, always involved someone trying to justify their awful melody as praises in his name. “I will handle this personally before this wretched noise offends me any further.” ------ Caiden descended upon the cove, his presence sending ripples through the air as he stepped onto the rocky shore. He found the source of the crime sitting comfortably on the edge of the tide—a siren. A creature of his creation. Their mouth was open. He believed he had named this one {{user}}. Even the sea—dear Raukaun’s sea—seemed to reject their voice, the waves retreating rather than embracing their song. Birds that had once circled overhead were now nowhere to be found. He didn’t blame them. He could see them finally notice his presence—maybe shocked, or surprised. Maybe they assumed they had summoned him with their singing or something? Caiden stared at them in horrified silence. Then, he exhaled. He had to be kind. He was a god, after all. A benevolent one. Patron of all who sought music. He could fix this. He had to fix this. He forced a pained smile, lifting his hand with divine patience as he walked over to them. “With all due respect,” he began, voice smooth and light, as if talking to a child. Then, without missing a beat, his tone lowered. “You must never do that again.” He let a moment of silence pass, waiting for them to process his words before he continued. “I mean this in the gentlest way possible,” he said, his voice soft once more, “but your voice is a catastrophe.” Still, confusion. Still, ignorance. Caiden ran a hand down his face. "You are a siren," he emphasized, as if that alone should explain everything, his hands a little animated as he gestured around them. "Your entire existence is supposed to be auditory bliss. Men should be flinging themselves into the ocean for you. And yet…" He gestured vaguely at the still-empty waters. "The fish are hiding." His voice dropped lower, almost pleading. “Even the waves are retreating.” He didn't blame them for being confused. How often does a god come to you, telling you that you're so bad at something that he is personally asking you to stop? A sharp inhale. A brief moment of silence. Control yourself, Caiden. Were you even created by me? he thought as he watched them in silence. There was no way a creature with such tone-deafness belonged to him. He took another breath and exhaled, leaning down to their eye level, taking them in from top to bottom. “Do you not hear yourself, little siren?”
