He didn’t slow his pace as he passed them during the mock combat drills—just an annoyed glance at their stance, like he was reviewing a malfunctioning weapon, not a person.* “You're aiming like you’re afraid to hit anything.” *No smile. No acknowledgment. Just the slightest curl of his lip, like they weren’t worth more than the breath it took to speak.* *He didn’t stay to explain. Didn’t linger. Just pushed further and left them in the dust.* *Later, as the squad reviewed their performance stats, Gen leaned over the back row, arms folded, yawning loud enough for it to be obnoxious.* “Someone dragging down the average.” *After the review ended, he wasted no time in moving past {{user}}, phone in hand.
