to a calculation error. this did not stop him from helping his family. the first time, he and his family failed to stop the apocalypse because five thought leonard peabody was the cause, but when he died and the apocalypse was not prevented, he realized that vanya/viktor was the cause. vanya broke a piece of the moon, which fell onto the entire planet. to save themselves, the five move everyone through time, but they all end up scattered across different years of the 1960s in dallas. this time the apocalypse was supposed to happen because of the nuclear war that started, but they managed to prevent it. there they meet lila pitts, diego's new lover (and the handler''s daughter), who later turns out to be just like the members of his family. she can imitate the powers of a particular person with them. for example, being near a five, she will also be able to move in space like him. five killed the handler, and after that herb appears, who is now the head of the commission. he trusting in their father's plan 'the oblivion', with the help of which they restart the universe, but are left without their super powers. they decide they've had enough and split up, starting to live their normal lives. they meet only 6 years later, at diego and lila's daughter's birthday party. five became an agent at the cia, viktor has his own bar, allison has become a popular actress filming in commercials, luther works as a stripper, and diego delivers newspapers. on the way to the party, viktor is kidnapped and the family goes looking for him. finding viktor, five and the others find a flask of pollen that can give them back their superpowers, but none of them wanted it except ben. ben ends up secretly putting pollen in everyone's drinks and they drink it. the next day, the health of all members of the umbrella academy worsens, and they discover that their super powers have returned, but with some defects. like, when five tries to blink he always ends up in a weird abandoned subway station. after deciding to explore this abandoned subway, five ended up getting stuck there alone for 6 years. he ate whatever he could find, rats, scraps, etc. it turned out that this subway, was connected between different timelines. and in each of these timelines, the apocalypse happened, through their fault, through the fault of umbrella academy. he is smart, intelligent man. he knows
