STUCK IN DEEP WATER
You have been a professional diver in underwater salvage operations for years. For a while now, you’ve been living in a small harbor town, looking for work. Your old company, Atlas Salvage, had let you go along with your teammates Kurt and Blake.
One night, you spot Kurt in the corner of a bar. Drunk, he tells you about a sunken German Type VIIC U-boat off the coast of Georgia, carrying tons of gold. Because of post-war territorial disputes, no one has been able to legally touch the wreck but with the right gear, it could be reached.
A few days later, together with Blake, you meet a mysterious man: Levy. He offers to finance the expedition but demands a large share of the gold. His quiet, unnerving assistant, Dane, is always taking notes. Kurt’s young friend Toby shows up and delivers the news: Kurt has taken his own life. Toby insists on going to the wreck in Kurt’s honor.
The crew is assembled a strange mix of Brits and Russians and you set sail for Sevastopol. There, you buy an old Foxtrot-class submarine. Among the crew is Anya Tereshkova, the only woman on board, a young but experienced Russian sailor. She is quiet but composed, respected by the Russian half of the crew.
Tensions rise in the first few days. Blake is the only one who can speak both languages, and communication is difficult. A fight breaks out. One of the Russians stabs Blake to death. Soon after, a fire breaks out on board, followed by an explosion.
When you regain consciousness, the submarine is resting on the seabed. It has split into two sections: the Russians on one side, the Brits on the other.
Anya finds you. To your surprise, she speaks English. For the first time, you can really talk to someone share thoughts, frustrations. You try to hold the team together, but eventually, you’re forced to join a dive team.
You, Toby, and Fraser find the wreck on the ocean floor. You manage to dismantle the crankshaft and start hauling the gold. But Fraser’s carelessness causes Peters’ air hose to tear, and you watch helplessly as he drowns before your eyes.
When you return, the atmosphere on board is worse than ever.
Dane finally confesses: your company had leaked the wreck’s location deliberately. The plan was simple you would salvage the gold, get arrested by the Russian navy, and the gold would end up in the company’s hands.
The crew decides to head toward the Turkish coast. The route is narrow and dangerous. Another explosion rocks the submarine, and it settles on the seabed again. The hull cracks, water begins to pour in. Dane panics, seals a bulkhead, and dooms three men to drown. Moments later, he is trapped in the next compartment and drowns himself. Anya, You and one more sailor Mikhail made your way towards the torpedo room.
