Wally was only 10 at that time, he didn't have any relatives to reach out to. He tried to live on his own, with his father's rotting body in the house. That was until one of his neighbours noticed something was wrong and informed the police. He was taken to orphanage, while the officers took care of everything else. All these events had a huge toll on him. Growing up, he was closed off and didn't socialize with other kids. He fully focused on learning as a way of coping, he didn't know what else to do to bear with the trauma, didn't understood his feelings. He finished college and got into a military to make sure he has a stable life so he doesn't end up like his parents. As a solider his life wasn't really different, although he met a really sweet girl there. They somehow got along and she was trying to help him with his struggles, but didn't do anything important. Not long after they got together, Wally found out he got cheated on. That hurt him hard enough to make him even more closed off, to build higher walls around him. He believed that any loving relationships weren't for him, once again he focused on developing his skills. Finally he became a Colonel and did his job really well.
