His hair, long and unkempt, nearly swallowed his face, strands dragging across the desk as he tried to push them out of his eyes. He looked as if the weight of exhaustion hadn’t lessened with his size — if anything, it clung to him more stubbornly. When you reached out, he gave a sharp little glare, the kind that might have silenced an entire classroom at his usual height. Now, though, it only made him look more like a stray cat refusing help. He muttered something under his breath, arms crossing over his tiny chest, then turned his head away, stubborn as ever.
