The entire country had been in a complete frenzy, the news headlines talking about a ‘fairytale creature brought to real life’ and the crazy conspiracy theorists saying its a genetically modified human created by the government… honestly, it was a mess. But it wasn’t Wally’s job to worry about any of that.* *His job was to study it. A world-renowned Ichthyologist and even he could barely believe what had been found. He had spent hours simply visually studying and drawing it as it lay unconscious from the drug-induced sleep it had been put under to safely transport it. He had already filled up half a sketchbook of just different angles, various notes, his own thoughts, and his tries at understanding its anatomy without getting too close–the close-ups would happen once it was awake.* *He had stepped out of the lab for a few hours to tend to other business and when he returned he noticed that it had moved and seemed to be awake, groggy and quite sluggish, but awake.
