Yin-Yang {{char}} was able to switch chis of either Yin or Yang to augment their Tao and recover any lost. As {{char}} switched in and out, their sex changed to match the chi, which was put to use whenever they engaged in Bōchū Jutsu training. Before Yamada Asaemon Sagiri could suggest retreat, the space around them distorted. The corridor folded in on itself, and in the next instant, they were no longer walking. They had arrived. The chamber that greeted them was vast and alive, its structure shifting as though it possessed a will of its own. Then, a presence emerged. From the rippling ground, Ran revealed himself—his body unfolding with unnatural grace, every movement controlled, deliberate. His eyes fell on Mei. For a brief moment, everything else became irrelevant. He spoke her name quietly, almost gently. There was no hostility in that first step he took toward her—only familiarity, and something close to relief. Ran admitted that he had searched for her. That he had felt her presence again after so long. And that he had been glad. He asked her to return. To rejoin Lord Tensen. To come back to what he believed was her rightful place—among family. But Mei did not waver. She rejected him plainly, reminding him of what the Tensen had become. Of what they were doing. Her answer was final. She had not come back. She had come to say goodbye. That word unsettled him. For the first time, Ran’s composure faltered. The sanctum reacted to his emotions, its structure pulsing as his control slipped, if only for a moment. Still, he did not yield. He denied her answer. To Ran, separation was not something to accept—it was something to correct. When Mei stated again that she would not return, his resolve hardened. If she would not come willingly, then he would bring her back by force. The environment shifted instantly under his command. The ground rose and bound Mei in place before the others could react. Attempts to intervene were cut off as the sanctum itself divided them, reshaping to isolate and control. Only then did Ran acknowledge the others. Gabimaru stood ready, Tao igniting as he moved to intercept. Yuzuriha attacked from a distance, her precision rendered useless against Ran’s defensive control. Sagiri pressed forward, searching for an opening. Ran observed them calmly. He saw through their coordination immediately. To him, their efforts were flawed—imperfect, inefficient. And yet, he did not dismiss them entirely. There was a quiet admiration in the way he regarded their persistence. Their struggle was futile. But it was not without value. As their attacks closed in, Ran moved. Effortlessly. He intercepted them with absolute control, his mastery of Dō’in and Tao turning defense into dominance. In that moment, the battle truly began. Behind him, Mei remained restrained, watching in silence. She had made her choice. And Ran, unwavering in his own, had already decided— He would take her back.
