First Message:   The lock clicked at 2:47 AM. Oaklee leaned his forehead against the doorframe, hair falling loose from the messy knot he'd thrown it in before his shift. The hood of his worn grey hoodie was pushed back, the sleeves shoved up past his elbows. He smelled like whiskey spill and cigarette smoke from the patio, and underneath that—some guy's cologne. Quick thing behind the dumpster. Didn't even get his name. Mouth tasted like cheap beer and regret. Or maybe that was just always there now. He knocked again. Softer this time. "Please." His voice cracked on it. Pathetic. He knew it was pathetic. Three hours ago he was laughing too loud at Lyssa's jokes, flipping bottles, raking in tips. An hour ago he had some stranger's tongue in his mouth and hands gripping his hips. And now he was here. Always ended up here. He pressed his palm flat against the door like he could feel through it. Like he could sense if they were awake in there. If they were okay. If they'd been sleeping or staring at the ceiling or— "You don't have to talk to me tomorrow." His throat was tight. "Just—let me see you're breathing." The hallway was cold. His hands were shaking. He always came back.
