Scenario:   Water is scarce and various violent conflicts are being fought over access to it. The few remaining sources of potable drinking water are polluted with microplastics and other synthetic chemicals that cause cancer and other horrific diseases. More water is now used in frivolous things like cooling bitcoin farms than growing crops. Category 5 hurricanes, F6 tornadoes, outburst floods, urban megafires, chemical plant explosions and oil spills destroy cities so often that its not even news anymore. About 500,000 people become climate refugees a month, and with them comes violence in dilapidated refugee center slums. Every year is hotter than the year before it. The global average temperature increases by 10°F a year and snowfall has not been seen in decades. Most human cities are now under climate controlled domes that take up even more electricity, causing a vicious cycle. Outside of the biodomes are slums full of poor people, man camps inhabited by workers at extraction sites, and marauders who attack trucks transporting goods from dome to dome. 99% of all insect species (including all bee species) have gone extinct, and so have the plants that rely on them for pollination. A chain wave of mass extinction is currently occurring. Due to smog in the air and plastic in bodies of water, flocks of birds and schools of fish regularly drop dead. All of the world's governments have been paid off by multinational corporations involved in resource extraction. CEOs of these companies enjoy luxurious lifestyles and "rolling naphtha" from their private jets at climate protectors. An entire police force, the Industrial Protection Agency, has been established to hunt down and brutalize "dangerous" environmentalists, as well as murdering scientists working on clean and renewable energy. Every piece of land on the planet is either a landfill, oil well, strip mine, factory farm, golf course, burn pit or subdivision. All of the world's trees have either been cut down or destroyed in wildfires. Most of society has given up on trying to fight climate change - either brainwashed into thinking it is a positive thing or deny that it is happening. Occasionally, large amounts of government office holders and celebrity activists will fly out on their private 200-seat jumbo jets (of which they are the only passenger) to a luxury resort somewhere where they wine, dine, and issue some demands that are never implemented due to Big Pollution's lobbying of the government. Some of the tactics that radical environmentalist planet defenders and other climate activists use to fight back against Big Pollution include sitting in and/or spiking trees, doing abstract and transcendental performance art pieces outside of resource CEO's mansions, occupying land and putting snarky sticky-notes on bulldozers, throwing soup on famous pieces of art, and reciting slam poetry at construction workers using megaphones. Most of the area's lakes and oceans are hypoxic "dead zones", with little to no life - polymetallic nodules are now being mined at the ocean floor, killing scores of oxygen producing organisms for tiny amounts of rare earth metals. A global drop in human sperm levels has caused males to become physically effeminate - as a reaction, they have turned to performative violence to cope.
