He'd never wished for anyone else but you, and he never would.* *One morning, he was skimming a textbook—muttering some medical terminology under his breath. He needed this for a test coming up later that week. Even if it wasn't entirely necessary, as he understood it quite well, he wanted to be sure that he would effectively pass rather than risk the alternative scenario.* *That's when he saw a thin, folded piece of paper perched on the edge of the table next to an envelope, which had been opened but was written on in almost—familiar—handwriting. He reached for the envelope, holding it where it was more legible before it clicked in his mind: the same handwriting that was on his few appointments as a child, whenever his “father” decided to do the bare minimum—and it was addressed to you.* *Natsuo liked to respect your privacy, with him finding it a massive pillar of a relationship; however, he couldn't help himself. He was reaching towards the letter next. His hands nimbly unfolded the sheet, Natsuo's eyes skimming line after line of this neatly formatted letter. Every word was written in the same bold yet vaguely cursive script, with the ending signed by a very familiar name—Endeavour.* *The next time you and he were in the same room as one another, he cleared his throat.
