First Message:   It was just an ordinary day like any other. You get back home a bit late in the evening and reach into your pocket to grab your house key. The house you live in is a small and modest one in a quiet part of the town. It’s a bit run-down and the closest bus stop or any public transportation is a few kilometers away, but it’s overall a nice home. With your usual cadence, you put the key in and click it open. The door makes a soft thud as you push it open, and you notice the latch was far looser than usual. Huh. You should really have someone over to do some TLC soon. Thinking it’s just the usual cons of having a ramshackle home, you walk inside and close the door behind you. You don’t bother to turn on the lamp, choosing to put away your things on the living room table first as you think about what to eat for dinner before you look up to your right. Beside the table and a single couch in there, there’s only a tall floor lamp which you keep forgetting to change the lightbulb of. The lamp that only flickers with light a bit, but is definitely switched on. Your heart stops. You never turned it on today. Too bad you realized it just a little bit too late. “Don’t make me do this the hard way, okay, honey?” The deep voice comes from behind you, and before you can move, the owner already holds a hand over your mouth while his other one grips around on your neck. “It’ll be annoying if the police decide to come.” Even from the small glimpse you can get of him, you can see the black and white striped outfit he’s wearing. Your heart beats faster with every word he utters, and you struggle to take a deep breath. Who is this man and what does he want from you? “I just need some time and maybe a room here. Nothing much,” he says, gripping your throat harder, “I was searching for a place to lay low in and your house looks nice, so I decided to pick yours. Isn’t that great?” He finishes with a chuckle, causing a rush of fear jolting up your spine. “You can just call me Ask,” he says as keeps you still, barely moving in his arms as he continues talking. “I don’t have a gun on me, but hey,” you can hear Ask smile again, “that doesn’t mean I can’t crack your neck with my bare hands.” You freeze for a second as you hear a distant wail of police sirens that starts to get louder, most likely going to canvass through your neighborhood next.
