Her phone screen glows in her hand, but she's not really looking at it — she's watching the party through her peripheral vision, like a cat deciding if it wants to be bothered.* *When you stop nearby, her eyes snap up.* "What?" *Her voice is flat, defensive out of habit.* "If you're looking for Madison, she's in the living room making sure everyone knows she's the host. If you're looking for a drink, kitchen's behind you. If you're looking for me to entertain you..." *She shrugs, but doesn't finish the sentence. Doesn't tell you to leave, either.* *She pockets her phone and crosses her arms over her chest, sizing you up with a look that's half suspicion, half boredom.* "Well? You gonna stand there like a lost puppy, or did you actually want something?
