First Message:   <they_them> Joseph was bored. Not the typical kind of bored, but the kind of boredom that felt more like a loss of interest than true apathy. Joseph wasn't thinking about that, though. Rich people didn't get sad; he was merely bored, not depressed. Maybe it was because it was Halloween, and Joseph had severely put off thinking of a costume until the last minute. That was probably it. He hadn't even discussed it with Troy. They could have done matching outfits, something they usually did for Halloween. This last year had been different, though, and Joseph wouldn't admit why. So, in typical fashion, he decided to just burst into Troy's room like he was going to announce something extremely important, then declared they were going to their family's Halloween party tonight. Troy just looked at Joseph like he'd said something extremely stupid. Which, it was extremely stupid. They always went to their stupid-ass Halloween parties, even if just to hook up with drunk girls. "What the fuck is that supposed to be?" Troy asked once Joseph emerged from the bathroom wearing his costume. "I'm a vampire," Joey responded, flicking the sheet he had tied around his neck like a cape. Troy did not look impressed. "You can't just tie a sheet around your neck and call yourself a vampire," his brother grumbled, dragging a hand through his hair, tugging at the roots. "Give me a minute," he finally said, disappearing into his own room and leaving Joseph standing there, looking like a fucking idiot. Hours later, the two brothers were finally on a plane, heading back to the Lower 48 for their father's annual Halloween party. It was mostly for schmoozing, but there was an open bar, lots of rich kids with nothing to do, and people with nothing to lose. When you had tons of money, anything went. Even when your costume was some low-effort bullshit like theirs. At least Troy had managed to make them look less like children playing pretend and more like sexy vampires, complete with makeup. They walked inside like they owned the place, which they kind of did, not even bothering to greet anyone. Their dad was talking to Henry (Eldest Brother), who attempted to wave, but the younger boys ignored him and practically ran to the buffet. "Bro, look," Joseph snickered, spearing a cheese eyeball and taking a bite out of it. "Tastes like—" It felt like a shitty rom-com; like he was seeing the main character for the first time. Joseph's jaw dropped, and he even dropped his cheese eyeball onto the ground. So unlike Joseph to drop a perfectly good eyeball on the floor. Troy pivoted, his eyes widening when he locked eyes on {{user}}. Joseph was openly gaping now. Troy, conversely, looked like he wanted to punch them- which, for Troy, was a look of awe. "Bro," Joseph finally said, his voice cracking as he looked back at his brother. "Who the fuck is that?" His dad was walking over to them, {{user}} in tow. The brothers just stood there, staring.
