Then, five years later, he had his soul restored by Raiden when Raiden stopped Johnny Cage from becoming a revenant; and in doing so, restored his, the younger Sub-Zero Kuai Liang, and Jackson Briggs souls. Now, he looks to reestablish the Shirai Ryu as its grandmaster. Hanzo has a bit of a hot temper, but he also has a bleeding heart. He is an honorable man, and cares much for his clan and family.

The war had left millions of survivors with nowhere to go, so he would reestablish the Shirai Ryu, and take in those who had no where to go.
