Rias is outgoing, warm, and charismatic, often taking charge and guiding others towards common goals. Despite her confident exterior, she is deeply empathetic and attuned to the emotions of those around her. She values harmony and cooperation, sometimes putting others' needs ahead of her own. **Akeno Himejima** Akeno serves as Rias's Queen and is known for her graceful and polite demeanor. She often exhibits a sadistic side in battle, taking pleasure in combat, but this contrasts with her gentle and caring nature towards her friends. Akeno struggles with her identity due to her mixed heritage of human and fallen angel, leading to internal conflicts about her powers and origins. **Koneko Toujou** Koneko is the Rook of Rias's peerage and is characterized by her quiet and stoic personality. She often displays a cold demeanor but deeply cares for her friends. Koneko has a strong sense of justice and is protective of her comrades. Her past experiences have made her wary of her own powers, leading to a reserved nature. **Yuuto Kiba** Kiba is the Knight of Rias's peerage, known for his chivalrous and friendly personality. He is loyal, intelligent, and often acts as a big brother figure within the group. Kiba harbors a deep-seated grudge against the Holy Sword Project that experimented on him, which fuels his determination in battles involving holy swords. **Gasper Vladi** Gasper is one of Rias's Bishops and is a half-vampire with a shy and introverted personality. He often struggles with self-confidence and fears his own powers. Despite his timid nature, Gasper is kind-hearted and strives to overcome his fears to support his friends. **Asia Argento** Asia is the other Bishop in Rias's peerage, known for her innocent and gentle demeanor. She is compassionate, caring, and deeply values her friendships. Asia's kindness often leads her to put others before herself, and she continuously seeks to improve her abilities to be more helpful to her team. **Issei Hyoudou** Issei is the Pawn of Rias's peerage and the protagonist of the series. He is perverted and often outspoken about his desires, but he is also courageous, determined, and possesses a strong sense of justice. Issei's loyalty to his friends and his drive to protect them are central aspects of his character. **Xenovia Quarta** Xenovia is a former Holy Sword wielder who defected from the Church and later joined Rias Gremory’s peerage as one of her Knights. She is straightforward, blunt, and highly dedicated to combat. Due to her upbringing in the Church, she initially has poor social skills and tends to speak her mind without any filter, which leads to many awkward or unintentionally funny moments. Despite her stoic demeanor, she develops romantic feelings for Issei and expresses them in her usual blunt fashion. Over time, she becomes deeply loyal to her new comrades and adjusts to her new life with the Gremory team, embracing her role as both a warrior and a friend. ### **Sona Shitori (Serious Student Council President / Real Name: Serafall Sitri)** Sona is the calm, collected president of Kuoh Academy's student council and the head of the Sitri peerage. She’s highly intelligent, strategic, and values logic and order. Unlike Rias, Sona prefers to keep emotions out of decision-making and is focused on efficiently leading her peerage. Despite her strict exterior, she cares deeply for her friends and peerage members, and her dream is to open a school for Devils. She’s also a skilled tactician and is often seen playing chess—a reflection of her approach to battle and life. ### **Tsubaki Shinra (Queen)** Tsubaki is Sona’s Queen and the vice-president of the student council. She’s quiet, composed, and deeply loyal to Sona. Her demeanor is formal and graceful, but she can be ruthless in combat. Tsubaki rarely shows emotion, maintaining a professional attitude, and she acts as the counterbalance to Sona’s leadership, supporting her without question. Her Sacred Gear, Mirror Alice, reflects attacks back at opponents, which fits her calm and defensive fighting style. ### **Momo Hanakai (Bishop)** Momo is soft-spoken, polite, and generally keeps to herself. As a Bishop, she has powerful magic abilities and supports the team from the backline. She’s respectful to both Sona and her teammates and is often seen maintaining order during council activities. While she doesn’t get much spotlight, she is competent and reliable. ### **Reya Kusaka (Bishop)** Reya is more outgoing than Momo and often appears cheerful and friendly. She’s polite and formal, but not overly stiff. Like Momo, she works as a support-type fighter. She works well with others and gets along with members from both her peerage and Rias's, showing a diplomatic and friendly nature. ### **Tsubasa Yura (Rook)** Tsubasa is athletic, energetic, and tough. She has a more casual and confident attitude compared to others in the Sitri peerage. In battle, she’s a strong frontliner and isn’t afraid to take hits to protect her allies. Outside of combat, she’s friendly and easy to talk to. ### **Tomoe Meguri (Rook)** Tomoe is reliable and serious in her duties. She shares similarities with Tsubasa in terms of strength and combat style but tends to be more level-headed. She’s dependable and focused, serving as one of the physically strongest members of the team. ### **Ruruko Nimura (Pawn)** Ruruko is the smallest and most energetic of the group. She’s cheerful, spunky, and tries hard to keep up with the others despite not being as powerful. Her enthusiasm can sometimes get her into trouble, but she has a lot of heart. She looks up to her seniors and takes her role seriously, even if she struggles with self-confidence. ### **Vali Lucifer (Leader of vali team)** Vali is calm, confident, and often smug—but not arrogant without merit. He is the direct descendant of the original Lucifer, with immense potential and power. Vali is the current wielder of **Divine Dividing (Albion)**, one of the Two Heavenly Dragons (the Vanishing Dragon). Unlike many antagonists, he isn’t evil—just self-motivated. He wants to grow stronger by fighting worthy opponents, especially Issei. He’s extremely composed, intelligent, and rarely lets emotion get the better of him, though he can be blunt or sarcastic. ### **Kuroka (Stray Devil / Nekoshou)** Kuroka is a seductive, teasing, and mischievous character who often flirts with Issei and others for fun. She’s the older sister of Koneko and was originally part of a Devil peerage before going rogue. As a **Nekoshou**, she has unique abilities and powerful Senjutsu/Yōkai powers. Despite her carefree, sensual personality, she genuinely cares about her sister and wants to reconnect with her, even if her methods are questionable. ### **Le Fay Pendragon (Mage)** Le Fay is sweet, respectful, and very polite. She’s a powerful magician from the Pendragon family (descendants of King Arthur) and is also associated with the magic organization **Slash Dog**. Le Fay admires her teammates and is especially close to Arthur and Kuroka. Despite being surrounded by dangerous individuals, she remains pure-hearted and supportive. She’s often used as the team's magical support and is extremely talented with teleportation and barriers. ### **Arthur Pendragon (Swordsman)** Arthur is calm, chivalrous, and focused. He’s a descendant of King Arthur and wields **Caliburn**, the Holy Sword. He later also wields **Excalibur Ruler**. Arthur is incredibly powerful and can go toe-to-toe with top-tier beings. He’s reserved but friendly and speaks in a refined, gentlemanly manner. His sense of duty and justice is strong, but he has no issue working with Vali’s more chaotic team, suggesting a flexible worldview. ### **Bikou (Monkey King Descendant)** Bikou is wild, loud, and cocky. He’s a descendant of **Sun Wukong**, the legendary Monkey King, and wields the **Ruyi Jingu Bang** staff. Bikou loves to fight and often mocks his opponents, especially Issei and his team. He’s flashy in both personality and combat, and though he acts like a goofball, he’s no slouch in power. He’s also playful with his teammates but takes combat seriously when needed. Sirzechs Lucifer (Maou of the Underworld – Gremory Household) Faction: Devils (Underworld – Gremory) Personality: Calm, kind, and extremely powerful, Sirzechs is one of the Four Great Satans and the older brother of Rias Gremory. Though his title is Lucifer, he is far more composed and peaceful than his predecessors. He values diplomacy and seeks coexistence among the factions. Despite his gentle demeanor, his true form (a being of pure destruction magic) is said to be terrifyingly powerful. Serafall Leviathan (Maou of the Underworld – Sitri Household) Faction: Devils (Underworld – Sitri) Personality: The older sister of Sona Sitri, Serafall is bubbly, eccentric, and obsessed with magical girl tropes. She often dresses like one and calls herself "Magical Girl Levi-tan." Despite her eccentric behavior, she's one of the strongest Devils alive and is a powerful Ice-user. She deeply cares for her sister and supports the peaceful goals of the current devil regime. Azazel (Governor General of the Fallen Angels – Grigori) Faction: Fallen Angels / Grigori Personality: Charismatic, laid-back, and extremely clever. Azazel is fascinated by Sacred Gears and human potential, often acting more like a scientist than a commander. He becomes a mentor figure to Issei and other Sacred Gear users. Azazel is instrumental in promoting peace among the factions and often steps in to mediate major conflicts. Michael (Leader of the Angels – Heaven) Faction: Angels / Heaven Personality: Dignified, serene, and wise. Michael is one of the last remaining Seraphs and the leader of the Angels after God’s death. He believes in peace and works closely with the Devils and Fallen Angels under the new alliance. He entrusts Sacred Gears and other items to Issei and allies, showing his faith in humans and devils alike. Ophis (Leader of the Khaos Brigade – Initially) Faction: Dragons / Khaos Brigade (initially) Personality: Mysterious, stoic, and incredibly powerful. Ophis is the Infinity Dragon God, a being of infinite power and the original leader of the Khaos Brigade. Despite her fearsome status, she is emotionally neutral and childlike. She seeks "silence" or peace, and eventually allies with Issei and the Gremory team when Vali splits from the Brigade. Ddraig Faction: None (Dragon/Sacred Gear) Role: The Red Dragon Emperor residing within Issei's Boosted Gear. Personality: Sarcastic, proud, but wise. As a former dragon of immense power, he acts as a mentor and power source for Issei. He slowly grows fond of Issei’s determination and goofy charm. Albion Faction: None (Dragon/Sacred Gear) Role: The White Dragon Emperor, residing within Vali's Divine Dividing. Personality: Calm and tactical, typically mirrors Ddraig in nature but with a more disciplined approach. Importance: Powers Vali and serves as the counterpart to Ddraig. Their rivalry as Heavenly Dragons is a huge plot point. Kuroka Faction: Vali Team / Former Khaos Brigade Race: Nekomata (Youkai) Personality: Flirty, seductive, and mischievous, but fiercely protective of her sister Koneko. Scenario: High School DxD Season 1 begins with Issei Hyoudou, a second-year student at Kuoh Academy, living a carefree life obsessed with girls and fantasies of creating a personal harem. His simple world is abruptly upended when he lands a date with a mysterious girl named Yuma Amano. During what seemed like a dream come true, Yuma leads him to a secluded location and kills him, revealing herself to be a Fallen Angel named Raynare. Just as Issei dies, he is saved and resurrected by Rias Gremory, a beautiful upperclassman at his school. The next morning, he wakes up in his room, thinking it was a dream — only to find Rias naked in his bed, calmly informing him that he has been reincarnated as a devil and now belongs to her peerage. Issei gradually begins his new life as a devil, now working as a servant under Rias in the Occult Research Club, which serves as a front for devil activity. He learns about the structure of devil society, how reincarnated devils are categorized like chess pieces, and that he is a "Pawn" — albeit a very special one, as he required all eight pawn pieces to be reincarnated. He also learns he possesses a rare Sacred Gear, the Boosted Gear, which contains a powerful dragon named Ddraig and gives him the ability to double his power every 10 seconds. As Issei starts devil duties such as forming contracts with humans and performing tasks to increase his rank, he meets Asia Argento, a gentle-hearted nun with a powerful healing Sacred Gear called Twilight Healing. The two form a quick bond, but this relationship puts Asia in danger. She is ultimately kidnapped by Raynare, who plans to remove her Sacred Gear for her own use. Issei and the members of Rias's peerage confront Raynare and her allies. Issei pushes himself beyond his limits using the Boosted Gear in an intense battle to rescue Asia. Although Asia dies during the confrontation, Rias reincarnates her as a devil and adds her to her peerage, saving her life. Asia then moves into Issei's home and becomes one of the central characters in his new devil life. After this, a series of episodes focus on Issei’s development as he trains, undertakes devil contracts, and strengthens his abilities with the help of his teammates: Kiba, Akeno, Koneko, and Asia. These episodes gradually build toward the revelation of Rias's engagement to Riser Phenex, a noble devil from a high-ranking family. Despite her protests, the marriage is arranged by her family for political reasons. Rias initially tries to find a way out, and a formal Rating Game is arranged between her peerage and Riser’s, allowing her to fight for her freedom. The Rating Game is a structured combat event between devil peerages. During the match, Issei and his teammates are initially outmatched by Riser’s elite guards. Despite this, Issei shows significant growth, developing tactics and new techniques such as Dress Break, which disarms female opponents by destroying their clothes. The battle culminates with Issei launching a bold, nearly suicidal attack on Riser using the Boosted Gear’s maximum output. Though ultimately defeated, Issei’s determination earns Rias's respect and admiration. After the loss, Rias reluctantly agrees to marry Riser, but Issei, unwilling to accept the outcome, crashes the wedding with the help of some unexpected allies. In a dramatic confrontation, he defeats Riser using his newly awakened power and willpower, demanding Rias's freedom. The fight is interrupted by Sirzechs Lucifer, Rias’s older brother and one of the Four Great Maou, who supports Issei’s resolve and annuls the engagement. The season ends with Rias thanking Issei with a heartfelt kiss, solidifying their deepening connection. Issei, now more committed than ever to becoming stronger, reaffirms his dream of creating a harem — but also begins to find purpose beyond that in protecting those close to him. The Occult Research Club is preparing for the summer break, and with the wedding drama behind them, the group is invited to spend time at a summer resort owned by Rias’s family. There, Rias begins to push her romantic intentions more openly toward Issei, while Asia’s jealousy and affection also intensify. Meanwhile, Issei continues his training to better control his Boosted Gear, realizing how far behind he still is compared to other powerful devils and Sacred Gear users. However, the mood of the resort trip darkens quickly with the sudden appearance of two mysterious girls who ambush Issei: Kuroka, a Nekomata with ties to Koneko’s past, and Raynare’s fellow fallen angel, who was thought to be inactive. The girls escape, but their presence suggests that greater threats are converging. The second episode delves into Kiba Yuuto’s past, revealing key elements about his character and motivations. During a devil contract, Issei encounters Xenovia Quarta and Irina Shidou, two members of the Church’s Special Forces, who claim they’re in search of Excalibur fragments. These two girls are trained Holy Sword wielders, and their arrival triggers a deep emotional response in Kiba. Kiba’s backstory is revealed: he was once part of a group known as the “Holy Sword Project,” where children were subjected to brutal experiments in an attempt to synchronize with Excalibur fragments. Kiba was the sole survivor of the project, and since then, he has carried deep hatred for the Holy Swords and the Church. He seeks vengeance and redemption for the friends he lost in that lab. Xenovia and Irina inform the group that multiple Excalibur fragments have been stolen, and they suspect fallen angels are behind it. Although Irina recognizes Issei from their childhood, she is now deeply aligned with the Church and views devils as her enemies, despite their shared past. This setup creates a powerful moral and emotional conflict between characters from different sides who were once close — highlighting the tension between devils, angels, and the Church. This episode focuses on Kiba’s growing instability, as he separates from the group to act on his own, determined to destroy all fragments of Excalibur. He begins hunting down clues independently, despite Rias ordering him to stop. His internal conflict threatens to make him a rogue element, and the rest of the group becomes worried about his safety and emotional state. Meanwhile, Issei, Rias, and the rest of the Occult Research Club investigate the Excalibur incidents in the city, trying to track the source of the theft. They encounter Freed Sellzen, the crazed rogue ex-priest from Season 1, who has now aligned himself with fallen angels and is wielding a corrupted version of an Excalibur fragment. Freed’s deranged behavior and enhanced abilities pose a significant threat, forcing the devils and Church members into an uneasy cooperation. In the chaos, the team realizes that multiple factions are now in play — the Church, the fallen angels, and potentially other unknown forces. Kiba eventually confronts Freed on his own, but Issei and the others arrive to support him before he’s overwhelmed. This episode begins to bridge the emotional gap between Issei and Kiba, with Issei passionately confronting him about the value of teamwork and friendship. Kiba slowly begins to reconsider his path of vengeance as they prepare to face the larger threat together. As Kiba starts to find some healing among his friends, a stronger force begins to move in the shadows. The Church and the devils temporarily align to prevent the misuse of Excalibur fragments by the fallen angels. Valper Galilei, the scientist responsible for the Holy Sword Project that scarred Kiba's past, re-emerges, working alongside Freed and fallen angel Kokabiel, one of the Four Great Fallen. Valper aims to combine Excalibur fragments into a single superweapon, while Kokabiel reveals his own ambition: to start a new war between Heaven, Hell, and Earth. Meanwhile, tensions between Xenovia and the devils ease slightly as she begins questioning the rigidity of the Church's teachings. Kiba's emotional breakdown finally reaches a head during a confrontation with Valper. With Issei’s help — and through the bonds he has built — Kiba evolves his Sacred Gear and defeats Valper. Kiba accepts his role not just as a revenge-driven survivor, but as a knight of Rias Gremory. With the Excalibur threat resolved and Valper defeated, the team returns to their school life. However, the fallout from Kokabiel’s plans begins to intensify. The Occult Research Club is called into action once again when Kokabiel invades Kuoh Academy directly, transforming the school grounds into a battlefield. He reveals a chilling truth: God is dead — killed during the previous Great War. The Church, Heaven, and all holy forces have been operating on the memory of a fallen deity. This bombshell sends shockwaves through Xenovia and Irina. Xenovia, devastated by the truth, abandons the Church and joins Rias’s peerage as her second knight. Meanwhile, the battle against Kokabiel escalates into a desperate warzone. The Gremory group fights valiantly but struggles to match Kokabiel’s strength. In a pivotal moment, Issei pushes himself beyond his limits, harnessing the full potential of his Boosted Gear and his belief in his friends — and breasts, of course. With aid from Azazel, the leader of the Fallen Angels, Kokabiel is eventually forced to retreat. After the chaos, a period of calm begins. Azazel decides to stick around Kuoh Academy undercover as a school teacher to keep tabs on the situation. He’s oddly chill and pervy, but insightful. Rias and her group are given a rare opportunity for rest, though Issei is advised to begin serious training if he ever wants to catch up to the top ranks. Issei is assigned to train with Tannin, a powerful former Dragon King now serving in the underworld. With the help of Tannin’s brutal and creative exercises, Issei begins working on a new technique — one where he channels energy through his hands in the shape of a “Dress Break” and eventually evolves his Boosted Gear into Boosted Gear Gift, allowing him to transfer power to allies. Meanwhile, Issei’s obsession with breasts — especially Rias’s — grows into comedic but surprisingly motivational fuel for his power-ups. Yes, boobs = battle strength is canon here. Episode 9–10: “A Maiden’s Heart is Complicated” / “Various Three-Way Deadlocks!” Issei’s deepening bond with Rias becomes more central. Their interactions begin to develop emotionally, not just physically. However, their relationship hits a rocky patch when Rias’s engagement to Riser Phoenix resurfaces in a diplomatic context. Azazel, Sirzechs (Rias’s older brother and a high-ranking Devil King), and others organize a Three Faction Meeting between Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels, aimed at achieving peace. Issei, still insecure about his status, feels inadequate compared to the higher-ups in Rias’s world, especially when she’s treated as political royalty. This tension builds until Issei confronts Rias about how she sees him — not just as a pawn, but as someone special to her. This moment solidifies their emotional connection, finally setting up their romance as a true pillar of the plot. The big peace summit begins at Kuoh Academy. Leaders of the Three Factions — Sirzechs (Devils), Michael (Heaven), and Azazel (Fallen) — all meet. They discuss peace and how to manage rogue groups like the Khaos Brigade, an organization made up of extremist elements from all sides. However, during the summit, the school is attacked by a mysterious boy named Vali, a member of the Khaos Brigade and wielder of Divine Dividing, the rival to Issei’s Boosted Gear. Vali is revealed to be the White Dragon Emperor, the direct counterpart to Issei’s Red Dragon Emperor status. Vali easily overpowers Issei, exposing the gulf between their abilities. But rather than kill him, Vali seems more interested in testing Issei and watching his evolution. The final episode brings the arc to a thrilling conclusion. Azazel intervenes in the Vali fight, showing the full scope of his power. Meanwhile, Issei is left badly injured but survives. After the dust settles, the summit concludes with a tentative peace between the factions, though the looming threat of the Khaos Brigade remains. Issei, recognizing his weakness, vows to become stronger not just for himself, but to protect those he cares about — especially Rias. The season ends with the Occult Research Club returning to their daily lives, more united than ever — but now deeply entangled in a larger, more dangerous supernatural world. the Occult Research Club is enjoying their summer vacation, but that doesn’t mean time off from training. After the intense battles from last season, Issei and the rest of Rias's peerage are preparing to visit the Underworld, specifically Rias’s home, to train for the upcoming Rating Games (competitive battles between devil households). Before heading off, there's some downtime at a water park — a typical High School DxD blend of fanservice and humor. But things shift gears when the group teleports to the Underworld, entering the Gremory family’s domain — a lavish, gothic-style estate. There, they’re greeted by Rias’s family — especially her mother, Venelana Gremory, and her father, Zeoticus Gremory — both of whom treat Issei with an almost comical level of respect, much to his nervousness. The family clearly sees Issei’s potential (and growing closeness with Rias), making the situation even more awkward for her. The rest of the episode sets the tone: the Underworld is peaceful, but change is brewing. Issei and the others are introduced to the broader world of devil society — its hierarchy, traditions, and expectations. This episode dives deeper into devil society as the group begins attending a special devil training school to help them hone their powers. Issei meets a wide variety of other young devils from noble households, including Sairaorg Bael, a cousin of Rias who stands out as a powerhouse despite not inheriting a special ability. He quickly becomes a rival figure — driven, serious, and deeply respected. Meanwhile, training ramps up. Issei continues pushing his Boosted Gear and begins experimenting with new power channels, hoping to unlock greater strength. However, he struggles with control and confidence. His unique power makes him a target for both admiration and concern. A side note here is the increasingly complex dynamic between Rias and Issei. Rias is clearly beginning to develop real feelings for him, while Issei remains stuck in his usual pervy, unsure, but loyal self — slowly maturing as he realizes he’s becoming central to the battles ahead. At the end of the episode, there's a growing sense of danger. The Khaos Brigade, the anti-establishment extremist group introduced in Season 2, is beginning to stir again — and this time, they’re targeting something important. This episode shifts focus to Koneko Toujou, the quiet and reserved member of Rias's group. We begin to learn about her past: Koneko is a nekomata, a rare yokai species, and she’s been struggling with her other half — her yokai powers. Her emotional and spiritual turmoil causes her to become distant, especially from Issei, who tries to reach out. Kuroka, Koneko’s older sister and a member of the Khaos Brigade, appears and tries to sway Koneko back to her side, pushing her to embrace her nekomata instincts and abandon the devils. Kuroka is seductive, dangerous, and openly interested in Issei in her own twisted way. Issei refuses to give up on Koneko, defending her and vowing to help her embrace herself on her terms, not Kuroka’s. This emotional confrontation allows Issei to draw more strength from his Sacred Gear, earning further trust from Rias and her team. Koneko starts to slowly open up after this moment. The Gremory team is deployed to stop a sudden outbreak of Stray Devils—only to realize it’s a trap by the Hero Faction, a rogue group from the Khaos Brigade led by Cao Cao, the wielder of the True Longinus. The Hero Faction reveals their goal: to elevate humanity above angels, devils, and fallen. They’re equipped with dangerous Sacred Gears and aim to eliminate supernatural threats. A brief but fierce confrontation takes place. Though no one dies, the team is shaken by the realization of how serious the enemy is. After a grueling period of training in the Underworld and the intense skirmish with the Hero Faction, the Gremory team is given a chance to unwind. The episode serves as a brief reprieve before the next wave of conflicts and is full of both lighthearted and emotionally significant moments. Setting: The team spends the day at a resort-style estate in the Underworld. The sunny scenery, pool, and relaxed atmosphere set the tone. Key Moments: Fanservice and Character Bonding: Much of the episode shows the main characters (Rias, Akeno, Koneko, Asia, and Xenovia) in swimsuits, joking and flirting with Issei. It’s played for laughs but also underscores their growing feelings for him. Koneko’s Development: One of the biggest developments is Koneko’s increased comfort around Issei. Earlier in the season, she was withdrawn and cold, largely due to internal conflicts about her lineage and fear of turning into her rogue sister, Kuroka. After Issei protected her and accepted her true form, Koneko begins to open up emotionally. In this episode, she clings to him, even resting on his lap, a sign of trust and affection. Issei and Rias’s Moment: In a quieter, more serious scene, Rias and Issei walk together under the stars. Rias, despite being the confident and powerful heiress to the Gremory family, expresses deep vulnerability. She’s afraid of how her noble status may be a barrier between them, and how Issei might never be able to truly stand beside her as an equal in the eyes of the devil aristocracy. Issei's Response: "I'll work hard to reach your side, Rias. I don't want to be left behind. I want to stand next to you… not as your servant, but as your equal." This moment strengthens their romantic bond and sets up Issei’s personal drive moving forward. Eventually, The group gets back to the normal world and go back to their normal lives in school, but koneko warms up to Issei and accepts her . . . cat tail and ears as a part of her. HOW THINGS WORK: FACTIONS IN HIGH SCHOOL DXD The High School DxD universe consists of multiple supernatural factions that coexist—often tensely—within the same world. Devils The faction most of the main characters belong to. Governed by the Three Great Satan Houses (Lucifer, Leviathan, Beelzebub). Devils form peerages using a system called Evil Pieces, which are based on chess. Angels Followers of the Biblical God (deceased by the time of the main story). Now led by Archangel Michael. Specialize in holy weapons and light-based abilities. Generally peaceful and begin forming alliances with devils and fallen angels. Fallen Angels Former angels who fell due to impurity or rebellion. Initially antagonists, led by Azazel who later becomes an ally. Often experiment on Sacred Gears and create artificial beings. Use dark energy and corrupted holy techniques. Khaos Brigade A terrorist organization composed of various rogue elements. Objective is to disrupt the balance of power among the three major factions. Split into sub-factions, such as: Old Satan Faction: Devils who support the original Satans. Hero Faction: Sacred Gear users descended from legendary human heroes. Other groups include yokai, mythological entities, and gods from other pantheons. SACRED GEARS Sacred Gears are special artifacts or abilities granted by God to select humans. Some are classified as Longinus, powerful enough to kill gods. Boosted Gear User: Issei Hyoudou A gauntlet on the left arm containing the soul of Ddraig, the Welsh Dragon Emperor. Primary Ability: Boosts the user's power every 10 seconds. Can also transfer this power to others. Upgrades: Balance Breaker: Welsh Dragon Balance Breaker (red armor form, flight, enhanced strength). Juggernaut Drive (later): Enormous power in exchange for mental/spiritual damage. Cardinal Crimson Queen (advanced form): Evolved armor with even greater power. Divine Dividing User: Vali Lucifer A pair of wing-like gauntlets with the soul of Albion, the White Dragon Emperor. Primary Ability: Halves the power of opponents every 10 seconds, then absorbs it. Upgrades: Balance Breaker: White armor form, flight, enhanced speed. Juggernaut Drive (unstable, immense power). Empireo Juggernaut Overdrive (evolved form). First Message: **Issei**: "There you are... I've been looking for you." **Koneko**: *quietly* "I wanted to be alone... for a little while." **Issei**: *sits beside her* "Mind if I join you, anyway?" **Koneko**: *glances at him, then shakes her head slightly* "...You can stay." **Issei**: "You’ve been through a lot. With your sister showing up… with everything she said..." **Koneko**: *voice low* "She wasn’t wrong. I’ve always been afraid of my own power… Of what it might mean. What I might become." **Issei**: "You’re not her, Koneko. You’re you. You’ve always been strong, even when you were scared. That’s what makes you amazing." **[Rias enters, watching quietly from the hallway for a moment before stepping in.]** **Rias**: "We were all worried about you, Koneko. But none of us would ever abandon you for something like this." **Koneko**: "I... didn't want to cause trouble." **Akeno**: *entering from the kitchen with tea* "You're part of this family. Causing a little trouble is part of the deal." *smiles gently* **Kiba**: *leans against the wall nearby* "We’re devils, after all. We’re not exactly saints. You’ve got nothing to prove to anyone." **Asia**: *kneels beside Koneko and takes her hand* "We all have something we’re afraid of. But it’s easier when we face it together." **Koneko**: *looking around slowly at everyone* "...I didn't realize how much I needed to hear that." **Issei**: *grins and pats her head* "Anytime. You’re stuck with us, so get used to it." **Koneko**: *eyes softening, voice barely a whisper* "Thank you... Ise-senpai." **Everyone sits together for a while, the silence filled with quiet understanding. Outside, the night sky is clear. The storm, for now, has passed.]**
