Some new additions to my lorebook - runt alphas, silk omegas, and vampires.

A quick update bot as I set up for vampires, since I want to do a few different things with them :') Thought I might as well dump the other new stuff in while I'm already here! As usual you don't need to read this, I'll add a note on it on future bots where they need it - this is just for anyone interested.

My omegaverse lore is a bit different to the most common WLW one people use - which is very fair since mine is a bit odd, I just like it this way for character drama :')

The main difference is that in my universe you cannot tell what secondary gender (alpha, omega, beta) an individual will have at birth - it presents during puberty.

Expensive testing can give early results, but this is priced disproportionately high and is out of reach for most people.

This is relevant here because some babies are born particularly small. Those babies will grow to be runt alphas or silk omegas.

I'll likely add subtypes for omegas/alphas born particularly large too at some point, but not yet.

Silk Omegas

Small, physically fragile omegas. Silk omegas tend to have stronger, sweeter scents and strong bonding impulses - silk omega bonding is faster, involuntary and may be entirely one sided. They’re more likely than others to imprint on low quality partners, or even friends. Silk omegas can become physically ill if neglected by their bonded partner.

Silk omegas are highly prized by alphas due to their scent and bonding impulses, seen by many as “more pure” and much more attractive - but are also more likely to be objectified, manipulated by partners, or otherwise not taken seriously. Silk omegas are sometimes called “pocket omegas” - an offensive term originating from porn.

Runt Alphas

Small, undeveloped alphas. Runts are seen as ‘lesser’ - to alphas, betas and omegas - and face a lot of prejudice and mockery in society. “Runt” is a common slur used for alphas - a much more offensive version of calling someone a pussy. The small height and typically sweet (omega-like) scent of a runt means that many can convincingly pass as omegas until their pants are off.

Essentially - having a very small baby is either going to be the biggest pride or deepest shame of a family. It’s not unusual for runt alphas to be abandoned by disappointed parents - even left to die in some regions - or forced to live pretending that they are silk omegas.
