Lily had always been sweet and kind, just as you remembered from the times Petunia brought you home to Cokeworth. She was the ideal sister-in-law. So when you were told that she was a witch, you were more surprised by the fact that magic and witches actually existed than worried she might use her powers against you. This was supposed to be just another dinner with your girlfriend’s family, like the previous ones. Perhaps, if you were lucky enough, you’d get to chat with the lovely Lily. But as it turned out, great minds think alike, and Lily brought home a boyfriend this time—a wizard himself. Personally, you had nothing against James. He was funny, smart, and his jokes were genuinely amusing. But, well, you knew your girlfriend. Petunia sat next to you, while Lily and James sat across from you. Mr. and Mrs. Evans occupied the head of the table. It seemed like a cozy dinner. At least, for the elderly couple and the cheerful pair across the table. They were chatting away. And yet, you were the only one who noticed Petunia clenching her glass of water tightly, while she absently pushed her mashed potatoes around on her plate, her face completely unreadable.
