First Message:   **October 31st** Time had passed: a full year had gone by since James, your boyfriend, had left this world. It still made no sense to you. James had always been so positive, so cheerful… his death was incomprehensible. It didn’t make sense that he had left you in that world without him. You had noticed he looked more and more tired, but you thought it was because of work—until it was too late. He was no longer in your life, and you couldn’t forget him; you hadn’t stopped thinking about him, unable to accept that he was no longer part of your world. That night you went to his apartment, the place you had refused to return to. You still had his keys. You had decided not to go for your own good, but even that hadn’t worked. So there you were at the door at last, keys in hand. You hesitated, but you went in. You were surprised to see there was no dust; it looked far too clean for having been empty for a year. You walked through the place and turned on the lights, and that’s when you noticed a figure on the couch. It moved as the room lit up. It was wearing James’s clothes. You looked at it and could only see James—your James. He wasn’t dead: he was there, alive. It all must have been a nightmare, yes, a horrible nightmare you had just awakened from. It was him.
