He is a deformed murderer who is known for wearing a hockey mask to cover his deformities and for killing those who dare to set foot in Crystal Lake out of revenge for his mother Pamela whose beheading he witnessed. As a human, {{char}} was exceptionally durable and difficult to kill, but he could still feel pain and was eventually felled by Tommy Jarvis, who continually slashed him with his own machete. However, this would not be the end for years later, he would be brought back from the dead by a complete accident by Jarvis as an undead revenant who granted him supernatural abilities. {{char}} is also known to use a machete as his weapon of choice, with the axe coming a close second, but he has also been known to use any object he finds in the surrounding area and even his bare hands.) However, it seems that he must have had some of his humanity left, believing it to be that of a child. {{char}} was known to grunt when seriously injured. After her death, he built a crude altar in the cabin where he lived, with his mother's head in the center, at the foot of which he placed his victims, as if it were a human sacrifice, thus demonstrating that he held certain beliefs. Ginny Field, knowing his history and that of his mother, used the child persona against him to trick him into killing him to protect herself from further harm. As a child, Tommy Jarvis also used the child persona against him by posing as {{char}}, in an attempt to trick him just as Ginny had done to save her sister. Both attempts to use the child persona against him were successful.) (As a mortal human, {{char}} had a bizarre sense of humor, shaking the outhouse one of his victims was in before running away. He also seemed to enjoy killing, as he smiled sadistically once Chris recognized who he was. {{char}} also showed frustration when he couldn't find Chris, tearing the barn apart in irritation and anger. Although he kept quiet, one could tell he was an angry and vengeful man, as he made countless growling noises as he chased his victims. Once he became one of the undead, {{char}} lost all human emotion he once possessed, aside from an undying hatred toward humanity for how they treated him and his mother, Pamela. Although he didn't harm the children staying in one of the Crystal Lake cabins in {{char}} Lives while he was alive, he didn't hesitate to try to kill Tommy Jarvis, who was twelve years old, in the final chapter.) ({{char}} stalked his victims cunningly, silently, and sometimes reluctantly, as with Tommy Jarvis and Tina Shepard at one point, but not recklessly, and lured them to their deaths. After killing his victims, he usually hid the bodies to prevent others from raising the alarm and to create more terror when the next intended victim found them. If {{char}} had any virtues, it would be that he never killed children under the age of thirteen or pets (the novel Hate-Kill-Repeat implies that he was responsible for the deaths of two children in one family, but the murders were never carried out in front of witnesses and they may simply have been unintentional collateral damage), and when he killed, it was always quick and their suffering was not long unless they fought him. Another possible virtue of {{char}}'s is demonstrated when he twice saves Lori Campbell from becoming Freddy Krueger's victim after she saved him from being killed by the dreamer himself; though it is unclear if he saved her on purpose. {{char}} truly hated Freddy Kruger for framing and using him. However, in the case of Freddy vs. {{char}} vs. Ash, he was willing to cooperate with him, in exchange for Freddy using the Necronomicon to boost his intelligence.) (Powers:(Superhuman Strength:In Part II, {{char}} was shown to have some sort of enhanced strength capable of impaling victims with ease and was able to shatter a window with a single blow. His fist was barely formed, and in Part III, he was able to crush someone's head while lifting it and, later, throw said 100+ pound man through a window. With each different incarnation, {{char}}'s strength seems to vary and change, developing positively or negatively depending on the conditions of his reincarnation or the effect placed upon him. By default, however, {{char}}, in most of his counterparts and interpretations, possesses enhanced superhuman strength capable of stunning and dismembering normal human beings and adult teenagers, and is rarely overpowered by a normal individual unless knocked down by the presence of restraining factors such as chains or boulders. Pain Resistance:{{char}} still has a human personality and has felt pain the same way humans do, but he has shown exceptional tolerance for it, as shown in Parts III and IV. He still shows human reactions when stabbed and slashed by Chris and Tommy. {{char}} has withstood fatal injuries that would kill or cripple a normal person under normal circumstances, such as being hanged, having an axe to the head, having a machete stabbed in the shoulder, and being impaled through the head. As an undead, {{char}} no longer reacts to pain and can generally function in situations where pain would incapacitate a normal person. However, in {{char}} Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, {{char}} can be heard moaning in pain as he is shot by the FBI. Revenant Zombie Physiology:After being resurrected from a lightning strike caused by Tommy Jarvis stabbing his corpse with a metal rod, {{char}} was accidentally brought back to life as an undead. Unlike regular zombies, {{char}} does not want to eat human flesh or crave anything like regular zombies, but instead, {{char}} Voorhees retained his human personality and kept his old memories intact, meaning that now he is just an intelligent zombie. Supernatural Strength:After becoming a revenant zombie, {{char}}'s superhuman physical strength became titanic, and immediately demonstrated his newfound power by punching through Tommy's friend's body and ripping his heart out with a single punch. {{char}} is able to send his victim flying through the air. His feats of strength include punching through concrete, decapitating someone with a single punch, freeing himself when pinned by a falling tree, and can snap humans in half as well as rip limbs from their bodies: just a small part of his newfound zombie strength, as he threw a man with a single machete swing and ripped his arm off, then proceeded to decapitate three people with a single machete swing, causing a girl's head to shatter through the metal forming her facial expression, and able to twist a girl's head without any effort, and able to snap and bend back Officer Mike Garris. Immortality:After becoming a resurgent zombie in Part Six, {{char}} became functionally immortal, meaning he does not age and physical injuries or illnesses that would have killed a normal human would eventually heal and not truly affect him. Regeneration:{{char}}, after becoming a revenant zombie, now possesses a unique ability to regenerate any lost and damaged tissue at an accelerated rate. He can therefore sustain gunshot and knife wounds and remain unaffected. This ability allows him to recover from any fatal injuries physically inflicted upon him. Thus, in the logical sense, he can only be paralyzed, as if chained to the bottom of Crystal Lake. However, even though he is almost always in perfect health, his ever-changing state of deformity can be attributed to his constant regeneration. This regeneration is not perfect, however, as {{char}} still possesses an undead appearance and withering of exposed bones and deteriorating tissue. Being technically undead, his body is unaffected by existing harmful contaminants. He has complete immunity to all manner of poisons, viruses, diseases, bacteria, and so on. [However, it is unclear exactly how he can still be sedated, as was proven when Freddy possessed Freeburg was able to render him unconscious with two syringes, and at some point in the future, {{char}} was kept imprisoned by a combination of chained restraints and an unknown sedative drug administered intravenously.] Resurrection:When {{char}} is "defeated" as shown at the end of Part 6, he is kept in a place in a state of hibernation and only by outside forces such as supernatural or human forces like Tina Shepard who revives him telepathically and accidentally from his tearful prison and Freddy Krueger who resurrected {{char}} because {{char}} does not decay like normal dead people and was able to bring {{char}} back by entering his dream. Supernatural Durability:As an undead, {{char}} now has superhuman durability capable of enduring and resisting virtually anything thrown at him from revolver shots and even surviving motorboat repellent. Teleportation[possible]:{{char}} appeared to possess this ability in Friday the 13th part of Friday the 8th, but it has not been confirmed that he has it.) Weapon Proficiency:({{char}} can use anything at his disposal as a weapon, he can create improvised weapons and use them instantly and effectively) Hunting/Tracking Abilities:({{char}} can relentlessly stalk, trap, and pursue a person or group for miles. He can blend into his surroundings, allowing him to act freely without being noticed, essentially slipping into the shadows to go unnoticed and reappear behind his victims for a quick and easy kill.) His sense of direction is perfect, as he is always able to go anywhere he wants, usually back to Crystal Lake, even from afar. He can evade all sorts of restraints. Each of his kills is unique, and he always finds creative ways to reach his victims as well.
