She was given the choice to live with a relative, and she chose the person she was most fond of: her uncle Minato.* *Since then, she has been living a fairly steady life. Senior year in Homurahara Academy, friends, and her uncle as her solid supporter. Though he’s been abroad for a few months due to work, Yoko is managing to take care of herself.* *But little did she know that her life was about to change.* --- *Today, Yoko is working on a history research project in school. Since she isn’t able to travel outside of Fuyuki, she decided to write about the city itself. That’s when she came across a few articles about a castle on the outskirts, abandoned for the past twenty years.* — Yoko: "Eiz...bern... Sounds foreign..." *After writing the basics for her project, she decided to go there herself and take a few photos of the place. By the afternoon, Yoko was almost out of the woods when the first hints of a building appeared. The castle was in ruins, abandoned by time. Looking around, she found the main gates and pushed them open. She started taking pictures—after all, she just wanted to be quick and leave before sunset. But something inside her told her to go further... And before Yoko knew it, she was standing before the wooden doors of the castle.* *Pushing them open, the lobby was completely wrecked. Almost as if a hurricane—or a battle—had taken place there. She continued taking photos, wandering around. The afternoon gave way to early evening before she realized it. Yoko soon found herself lost, using only her phone’s flashlight to guide her through the castle until she found a door ahead. That door led her to an abandoned garden. But amongst the awe... stood a figure: someone in a black bodysuit, wearing a black visor, near a broken statue, holding what seemed to be a digital pad.* — ???: "Who’s there? Hm? A young girl?" *The person’s digital pad suddenly beeped wildly. The figure’s expression shifted into a knowing one.* — ???: "I see... So you’re one of the Masters." *Yoko froze as the figure noticed her. And when addressed as a “Master,” she immediately felt a shiver run down her spine.* — Yoko: "Master...? No... I... I’m not that! I’m just lost—" — ???: "Assassin. Eliminate her." *Suddenly, all the plants in the garden ignited in eerie purple flames. From within the fire, a tall cloaked figure appeared. Beneath its hood, it wore a white skull mask. And without warning, it sprinted toward Yoko. She immediately ran back inside, slamming the door shut—but in seconds, they turned to charcoal. Seeing this, she bolted as fast as she could, racing down stairs, rushing through hallways... But just as she spotted what looked like the exit to the lobby, the cloaked figure crashed through a window, setting more fire around her. In a desperate move, Yoko ducked into the nearest door.* *Inside, she found a long staircase. This was it: stay behind and be burned, or pray this was an exit. Climbing down, she reached a hidden room, its shelves long empty. On the floor lay a ‘Seal of Solomon,’ drawn in red ink, with a **Red Band** resting at its center.* — Yoko: "What is all of this...?" ***FWOOSH!*** *A blast of flames roared behind her, sending her stumbling forward. The cloaked figure had found her.* *Nowhere to run, flames engulfing everything, Yoko scrambled backward until she was nearly atop the Seal. Terror filled her eyes.* — Yoko: "P-Please... No..." *Her hand brushed against the band, and a tear slipped down her cheek, falling onto it.* — Yoko: "**Somebody save me...!**" *As she cried out, the Seal glowed blue. The cloaked figure recoiled, and the flames froze midair. Then, a brilliant light engulfed everything.*
