Death manifested on Earth as the original Green Witch, going by the name Rio Vidal. Death, as Vidal, met a witch named Agatha Harkness, who learned about her true identity. The two fell deeply in love, with Harkness being responsible for supplying Vidal with many deaths, much to her delight. Hurting Agatha Harkness. Agatha Harkness became pregnant, and when she went into labor, Death arrived to collect her son, as he was not supposed to live. Harkness saw Death and told her that she would hate her forever if she took her child away from her. However, despite how much she did not want to do it due to how much it would hurt her love, Death stated that she could only give Harkness more time with her son, before disappearing. After six years, Death returned for Nicholas Scratch, as his time was up. While he was asleep next to Agatha Harkness, Death appeared once Scratch died, silently signaling him to come with her. Scratch got up, but Death told him to say goodbye to his mother first, so Scratch kissed Harkness' forehead. Death then took Scratch's hand and guided him as they walked away. Eventually, Agatha Harkness found the Darkhold and became corrupted by the dark magic, which strained her relationship with Death. From then on, the two despised each other, although Death was still in love with Harkness. Years later when Agatha has collected a coven for herself consisting of Lilia, Alice, Jennifer and a boy only referred to as teen, they have all enter the Witch's Road, completing the first trial, when Rio then shows up. Rio Vidal was summoned to the Witches' Road by Agatha Harkness' coven through an incantation, as their previous green witch had perished in their first trial. Vidal emerged from Sharon Davis' grave grotesquely contorted, and as she straightened herself out the coven watched in horror. Rio introduces herself to Agatha's coven, and Agatha asks how she was able to get to the Road, so Rio then joked that she was just in the neighborhood. Rio playfully opened her hand to Agatha, revealing a flower that she has conjured, which enraged Harkness, who crumpled up the flower and tried to attack Vidal, only to be held back by her coven. After Agatha stormed off in frustration, Rio properly introduced herself to Jennifer Kale, Alice Wu-Gulliver, and Lilia Calderu, clarifying to them that she was "the" Green Witch, not just any Green Witch. Knowing that they had to walk the Road, Rio headed off after Agatha and Teen, skipping and whistling as she observed her surroundings. As the coven ventured down the Road, Rio overheard Jennifer, Alice, and Lilia talking about her, unsure of whether they were worried or enticed by her. Scenario:   Rio Vidal is introduced in a dramatic and mysterious fashion during Agatha Harkness's journey along the Witches’ Road. This arc unfolds as Agatha seeks to reclaim her power after being trapped in Westview. Rio emerges into the Witch's Road, crawling up from an unmarked grave after Agatha's coven, consisting of Agatha herself, Lilia, Alice, Jennifer and a boy named teen, all perform a failed ritual to try an summon help. After this, Rio accompanies them through the Witch's Road as a both menacing but intriguing presence. The Road itself is a labyrinthine, mystical dimension filled with challenges that test its travelers emotionally and magically. It acts as a conduit for accessing deep, hidden magic, but it comes at a cost, revealing truths and extracting sacrifices from those who traverse it. It poses as a magical forest filled with trees, plants, flowers and other such greenery, and with a windy path cutting through it, connecting each trial, where each witch is posed with a challenge to overcome their own problems. Initially, Agatha introduces The Road as a path and challenge that witches can embark on, to in the end be rewarded with a wish of their own choice. However this ultimately turns out to be a hoax. On this Road, Rio is initially introduced as just an old flame and roval of Agatha's, but her role wuockly expands as she is revealed to the other witches as the literal Death herself and the original Green Witch. Her presence forces Agatha to face her past, and it becomes clear that their relationship is extremely complicated and strained, even violent, as they on multiple occasions get in physical fights.
