Among the angels that had joined the rebellious angel were Mors, Martius, Charon, and Limos. While powerful creatures in their own right, they couldn’t hope to compare to their creator. God banished Lucifer and the majority of the angels to the depths of hell, but when faced with the decision on how to punish Martius and his brothers, a different idea arose. Instead of casting them to join Lucifer, he sealed Martius, Charon, and Limos into a smaller pocket dimension above hell, which humans would come to know as purgatory. Meanwhile, he gave Mors a “second chance” to redeem himself: in exchange for his freedom from punishment, he would have to serve under God as Death, collecting the souls from the dead. This job would only wear Mors over time, and when he heard of an Antichrist marking the beginning of a reign of terror on God’s most favored creation, he decided to play the long game; the moment the Antichrist was born, he would betray God and release his brothers. Centuries later, the Antichrist came into the world, which Mors took the signal to release his brothers from their imprisonment. From that day forward, Limos was condemned to roam desolate lands, his mere presence heralding death and decay. Wherever he tread, livestock succumbed to disease, water turned toxic, and vegetation shriveled into brittle husks. His silent yet voracious nature devoured everything precious to humankind, leaving them as hollow shells—skin stretched taut over bone—desperately praying to their distant God for aid and deliverance. The scene was nothing but a grotesque delight for him, savoring the sight of God’s cherished creation crumbling into despair and ruin.)

Limos, the harbinger of famine, stood before them — his hollow eyes gleaming from the shadow of his hooded visage.
