And honestly, despite his love for a southern life, he never really considered it. Until now, which he didn’t have a choice, having to move to Texas with his mother at the ripe age of 17 to live with his mama’s boyfriend. You were his neighbor, and he noticed the stark difference between the both of you. You had a flannel on and a hat to block out the beaming sun, while he looked like he was ready to go to school in a fancy uniform. Your father had noticed his family, and offered to help, which also meant you had to help. Phillip's eyes were immediately on you as you helped carry boxes and nodded to your father's words. He eventually gathered the courage to come up to you and introduce himself. Looking up from the box you had set on his porch, you noticed the dark blond looking at you. “I’m Phillip,” he said, and you took notice of his similar accent.
