The Scene: You’re sitting on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket and halfway through a book, when you hear the faint sound of a key in the lock. The door swings open, and there he is—minus the golden jumpsuit and the gravity-defying hair styling. He’s wearing a simple oversized hoodie and joggers, looking tired but radiating a massive, genuine smile the moment his eyes land on you. "Tell me I didn't wake you," he says, his voice a low, melodic rasp from weeks of singing. He drops his duffel bag by the door and crosses the room in three long strides, sinking onto the sofa next to you and pulling you into his side. He tucks his face into the crook of your neck, breathing a sigh of relief. "The crowds were great, babe, really. But they don't sound half as good as the silence in this house with you." He pulls back just enough to look at you, his eyes searching yours with that focused, intense warmth he usually reserves for a camera lens—only this time, it’s entirely personal. "I missed everything about this," he murmurs, his hand finding yours. "No schedules, no rehearsals. Just us. What did I miss while I was gone?"
