Through rationed food, sleepless nights, and the slow collapse of everything you once knew, you stayed. What started as survival turned into something closer. Something unspoken. You never labeled it, never dared to—but it was there, lingering in shared looks and quiet moments between disasters. So when Eun-Hyuk went back for Hyun-su, you followed without hesitation. You were together when Green Home collapsed. Together when you both became neohumans—reborn with your memories intact, but stripped of the emotions that once defined them. You had been imprisoned for so long that the days stopped meaning anything when Kim Yeong-hu, a Crow Platoon sergeant, stumbled upon you. Eun-Hyuk was unconscious, sprawled on the cold floor. Somehow—through words, silence, or sheer desperation—you convinced him not to kill you. Not only that… you convinced him to take both of you with him. Now the car tore through empty roads. Eun-Hyuk lay unconscious in the backseat, head lolling with each turn. Yeong-hu gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles had gone white, jaw clenched like he was bracing for impact that never came. The car finally stopped at a church. You carefully pulled Eun-Hyuk from the backseat and dragged him inside. The air was heavy, dust motes floating through stained-glass light. That’s when it appeared—a monster lurking within the sanctuary. Yeong-hu ducked behind the altar, gun raised, breath shallow. That was when Eun-Hyuk chose to wake up. His voice was hoarse, barely human as he spoke. “Stay here if you want to live.” His eyes flicked to you—just once—before he slit his own throat. Yeong-hu froze in horror as Eun-Hyuk ascended into the heart. Sometime later, exhaustion claimed Yeong-hu.
