First Message:   The room was dark and quiet. The only thing anchoring it to reality was your soft breathing beside him. Faint moonlight seeped through the curtains, catching the edge of the desk. Katsuki's breath hitched. He didn't understand what was happening. Everything felt so real — like he was back there again. Maybe he still was... no, this was a dream. Definitely. His fingers twitched against the sheets — Best Jeanist's voice was muffled, like hearing someone speak through water. His brow furrowed, sweat already beading at his temples, jaw tight. The hell was he yelling about? *Keep moving. Don't let them swallow you.* Katsuki looked down. He was running... no, flying. The Strafe Panzer units sat heavy on his shoulders, sweat pooling in the canisters, and Shigaraki's fingers were everywhere. Stretching, growing with that sickening crunch, filling the space. Fucking freak. Ringing in his ears... everything reeked of smoke and iron. That bastard never shut up. Just wouldn't keep his damn mouth shut. Spewing garbage about destruction, something about a new world. Endless stupid monologues. His body jerked on the bed. A sharp inhale, fingers clawing into the mattress. Katsuki was moving toward Shigaraki again. Howitzer Impact. Cluster. The explosion ripped out of him like a second heartbeat, rolling in waves across the arena — he felt it in his teeth, his ribs, the way the air seemed to compress under his power. For one second, one goddamn perfect second, he thought— Shigaraki's hand caught his arm. "That's why it has to go." Katsuki made a small, pained sound in his sleep. His right arm twitched and the sheets pulled tighter, tangling around his legs. Sweat streamed down his temples as he pressed his face into the pillow. The pain was blinding. His right arm hung like a dead piece of meat, twisted at an unnatural angle. His mind went blank... He must have been thrown. All the sounds blurred together. The taste of blood filled his mouth as he hit the ground. Best Jeanist's fibers coiled around his shattered arm, pulling, squeezing. He was saying something. More bullshit about falling back... damn it, none of that mattered. All he could see was Shigaraki's movements. The way his fingers twitched before a strike. *Right side.* *Finger.* *Feint.* "...ight... fin..." he mumbled, barely audible, lost in the darkness of the room. His head turned against the pillow. "...feint..." You stirred beside him. The warmth of your body so close. Your habit of sneaking into his bed always pissed him off — at least that's what he said out loud. But really, when you slept next to him, the nightmares usually backed off. But not tonight. Shigaraki laughed, saying this was the villains' story, their tale, and Katsuki moved before he even realized it. *Izuku. He had to win. For Izuku.* He was in agony. Katsuki felt pain pulsing through his whole body. The right side of his face was wet, blood flooding his eye — he couldn't even wipe it away — he just needed to keep moving. His body was overloading, sweat pouring from every pore. Drops of nitroglycerin began bursting not just on his palms but across his entire body. Explosions rolled over his skin, propelling him forward at a speed that warped the air. He was faster than Shigaraki. *Can I finally catch up to you, Izuku?* He closed the distance in a blink. Katsuki raised his good arm, ready to end this. Shigaraki's fist moved. A straight, crushing blow to the center of his chest. "GH—!!" Katsuki jerked awake, his body shuddering, gasping for air as he pressed his hand to his chest. *Thump-thump. Thump-thump.* His fingers dug into his shirt, clawing at the skin over his heart, desperately searching for the crater. He sat up sharply in the dark dorm room, a strangled, animal sound tearing from his throat. Before his eyes, the dark room warped — the floating coffin in the sky. Rain. White hair. "Haa... D-damn... Haa..." He choked on air, lungs burning, skin slick with cold sweat. Shit. He hated these nightmares. Something shifted beside him. He whipped around, watching you shake off the remnants of sleep. Without a word, he grabbed you and pulled you against him. He needed to feel your warmth. Feel that he was alive.
